Nonetheless, Virtya was not helpless when Eugene gave him these ridiculous figures because he had a plan. He had known since the beginning that the automotive industry was not going to be easy for him and therefore, Virtya planned to do it the way the motor companies in his past life used to do.
After all, in Virtya's past life, a motor company like Audi didn't have the money to mass produce futuristic concept vehicles and even if they had the money to do the mass production, the people would not buy those vehicles because of how ridiculous they would cost and therefore, Audi could only come up with a single futuristic concept vehicle. The same was for the country called USA.
The US was able to build a fighter jet that could go to planet mars and come back on the same day but they were only able to build a single jet of this type because of how ridiculous it costed the taxpayers to produce one, the other developing countries could only watch in wonder as they couldn't even think about building such a beast jet because even if they collected all their people's money and put them together, it would still not be able to build this jet.
Virtya was not disappointed, he wouldn't go for the motor industry or the locomotives. He would have to push the plan for the motor industry at the back of his mind and instead, Virtya was planning to only build a few steam powered vehicles under his small budget. Yes, building a few vehicles would cost more as compared to a single car build from mass production but Virtya didn't have the options, he only had one route to follow.
Actually, Eugene had come up with an estimate of 5 million gold coins for producing a single vehicle therefore, if Virtya wanted to produce 10 vehicles, he would need almost 50 million gold coins for that.
However, Virtya didn't have the money for manufacturing even a single vehicle right now because all the money had been absorbed by the cement plant and the cannon making. What Virtya had right now was 5 million gold coins which had already been budgeted for as it would be used to build the turbine and the rotary kiln for the cement plant, Yes, the cement plant would cost him more because of his mistake and also because he had changed the design of the rotary kiln and the turbine which were more costly.
"What will I do? Where will I find the money?" Virtya asked himself.
"What are you talking about man?" Alexandre asked him. A bewildered expression was plastered on his face.
"Yes! I know where to find the money." Virtya relaxed. He had the cement plant which could enable him to raise a few millions after the sale of cement. Virtya could use this cement to build more blast furnaces and expand the blacksmithing guild after a fruitful talk with the kingdom of Ugley and from there, Virtya could revive the manufacturing of the farm tools and products made from the stainless steel. This will bring in the money for Virtya to use for building a few vehicles.
However, before all this, Virtya had to make the cement known to the world so that he could find customers or else no one would buy his cement because they didn't knew what it could be used for.
"Well... So many things Alexandre. I don't know if I will be successful or not." Virtya supported his chin with the palm of his hand and then he turned to Tanya.
"Tanya... Will I be successful?"
Tanya pondered for a moment as if she was contemplating before she said without staring at Virtya's face.
"I believe you will."
"Just that? I was especting you to encourage me and tell me a few stories about how you struggled to reach where you are until you succeeded... But, maybe that will be a story for another day."
The carriage came to a stop and Virtya, Alexandre and Tanya came down.
Out there, Virtya could see that Nataschenka, Guarin and some blacksmiths were already waiting for his arrival.
"Welcome your majesty." All the people lowered their heads and uttered. Virtya waved his hand and with the protection of the knights, he didn't have to say anything to these blacksmiths as he joined Nataschenka and Guarin into the blacksmithing guild.
