Chapter 32: Hurricane Martha

A phone call woke Asher up from the couch he was sleeping on. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. He tried to think who would have the balls to wake him up around…he quickly checked his watch and it was a minute to two in the morning.

He sniffed. Now, he knew who. The only person with the balls to disrupt his sleep was himself. He picked up the phone and it was Jacob, his assistant.

"Are they ready for me?" Asher asked. His voice was flat and tired. 

He really needed a good night's rest. The day he had with Pepper was literally hell especially when he had no idea if his romantic gesture might have killed her. 

Right now, he should be passed out on the bed right next to the gorgeous frame of his contracted wife, holding her very close to himself until morning or until Pepper stirs and electrocutes him again. Either way it was better than talking to a bunch of board members about a purely emotional decision.
