There was a spring in my step all the way to the side gate (if you can use the term on something smaller than even a normal door). I may have been able to carry all that furniture, but suddenly being free of it, I felt that I might just spend fifteen minutes sprouting wings and just fly the rest of the way.
Don't.
Just don't try; flying doesn't work that way, even with Air magic.
I knew that, but I did skip and almost leapfrog to the gate. Getting through was easy; apparently the guards hadn't been advised on my change of status.
The first arrows were in the air before the loud boom behind me told me there would be no retreat. Night vision revealed them to me, as did the stars winking out as the missiles passed in front of them.
"Shroud!" I called out, dodging to the right.
My computer had its battery die (not the acid explosion type, just the "I'm going to pretend I'm a rock rather than a battery."). And reality has hit me; I need to do more than a chapter a week.
My own psychological reasons; I'm not going back to writing a chapter a day any time soon. This means I'm not getting paid, so please don't spend money.
On the plus side, I've re-learned how to read other novels on my phone. And let me say, I'm happier with what I've managed rather than the "my farts accidentally kill dragons sixty miles away" power levels in some other writings.
So... I refuse to acknowledge them as good stories for similar reasons that they will not acknowledge mine. So, good news Rhishi will remain Rhishi, working his way up slowly and sometimes losing power. Bad news... I don't think we're ever seeing Rhishisikk animated for HiDive, Crunchyroll, or Netflix.
And... if we do, I'm going to rewrite the story for that media. I've red my early chapters, and it makes me cringe.
