Liz plopped down on the loveseat beside me. “What the hell is going on?”
I was wrapped up in a blanket with some stupid rom-com on TV that I was giving very little attention to. I sighed. “It’s hard to explain,” I said. Realistically, it wasn’t that hard of an explanation. Silas wasn’t sure if he could accept the fact that I was a witch. Actually, it had been three days, and I hadn’t heard from him, so I was pretty sure I had my answer.
“It can’t be that hard, Kat. Something happened. Something big. We’re friends, aren’t we? I mean, I thought we were. You’re not nearly as mean to me as you used to be.”
“I was never mean to you.”
Liz looked at me with the most skeptical expression.
“Okay, maybe I was a little snippy or blunt sometimes, but I wasn’t that mean.”
Liz chuckled and rolled her eyes. “Sure.”
“Anyway, we are friends. You’re my best friend, okay? I don’t even know how it happened because we don’t have much in common.”
