Dante's identity was like an investigator of mystical phenomenons. All his life, he had been fighting with supernatural demons and vicious devils, saving humans from the devils' minions.

His sword, a big one with a devil face engraved on the sword guard, was left to him by Sparda. It was named Rebellion since its owner had betrayed his kind to save humans.

It was a powerful demonic sword, and its thick body was excellent for close-range combat. However, when necessary, it could follow Dante's mind and fly out to attack enemies.

Meanwhile, he had a pair of guns, Ebony and Ivory, which acted as long-range weapons.
