After the fight with Ifrit, our local slime began touring the world in human form and enjoying the food of this world.
Time passed and we rebuilt and expanded the village until one day I could feel the presence of 6 ogres. Them being here meant that the Orc disaster was imminent and Rimuru would soon get his Demon Lord seed.
That was good news for me, it meant his Harvest Festival was slowly getting closer.
That night we had a feast to celebrate Rimuru getting the ability to taste, of course, we were accompanied by the ogres.
A week later, all ogres were named and evolved into Kijin and we were now facing one of the most powerful beings to ever walk on the central world, Gabiru, the idiot lizardman.
I could feel myself losing brain cells just by watching his performance, just being near him was like being slowly erased from existence. Seriously, I wished I could just bury my head in the ground and never come out, that's how cringe this was.
I couldn't bear to be around any longer and just left before the main squad arrived.
In the following days, I heard how a Dryad had appeared during the war meeting, asking for help in dealing with the orc disaster. That's how our once (not so) peaceful village started to prepare for war.
Our equipment was rather good thanks to Rimuru's supply of precious ores but we lacked manpower. We only have one lizardman village as support and we only had six people that could really make a difference in this fight. To put it nicely, realistically our chances weren't that good.
Neither less, everyone still wanted to fight, some because they didn't have any other option, and some because they had blind trust in Rimuru. If I didn't already know the outcome, I might have to cheat a bit and help from the shadows.
The battle started and if it weren't for Ranga, Benimaru, Shion, and Hakurou we would have been defeated in a matter of minutes. Orcs and Hobgoblins were around the same rank in terms of power but they had over 10.000 men while we only had a few thousand.
Luckily the battle ended after just an hour when the orc disaster got devoured.
After the battle, we had to deal with tens of thousands of orc refugees and if that wasn't already enough, that arrogant dwarven king decided to show up and test Rimuru.
If it was me I would have killed him in an instant, first, he doesn't even join the war and then he comes out of hiding and thinks he has any right to judge anyone. I'm pretty sure he didn't end the test because he acknowledged Rimuru but because he saw that he couldn't beat him and decided to play the good friend card.
Millim happened and I knew I couldn't hide from her Milim Eye, so I just left the Jura Forest until she left again. Interestingly enough, although she still went and fought with Rimuru, she didn't proclaim him her 'bestie', probably because of Viliana, who flew after her and arrived minutes after Milim got addicted to honey.
Millim and Viliana, or Vili as Milim calls her, stayed for a while before they left to do their own stuff, whatever that might be.
After that time passed a lot more peacefully than before, I'm not pointing any fingers but it just so happened to be the time when Rimuru was taking Shizue's place as a teacher.
A few months later, the kingdom of Falmuth suddenly declared war and attacked us out of nowhere. I knew that this was the beginning of the Demon Lord Arc and that Rimuru was probably already on his way back, not knowing that he was running into Hinata's ambush.
This Hinata was nothing like the shy beauty from the friendly murder world next door, but a cold-hearted and stubborn bitch who will do anything for the sake of mankind, including killing everything that isn't human.
The war went on for days and the moment their army pushed forward to the city and built the anti-magic barrier, Tempest lost a large part of their power, resulting in many deaths, including Rumuru's busty secretary.
When he finally arrived, I could feel his anger from miles away.
I didn't need to be there to know that Eren had convinced him to become a Demon Lord, using the souls of the Falmuth army as a sacrifice.
It was finally beginning.
The moment his evolution ends and his subordinates get rewarded, I had to create Shub-Niggurath no matter how the cost. The moment I get this skill, my power will only be limited by my knowledge.
