บท 7: Settling In The New World
Rio: "Ugh my head, Why is it always my head."
I slowly get up from what looks like a vaguely mattress-looking object.
'Oh, that's nasty. I can't even tell if this is a mattress or a bunch of soiled material made into a pile. I need to get up so I can stop touching this.'
Memories flood in.
'Okay, so I was an orphan in Hell's kitchen. At the age of 10, the orphanage tried to sell me to some gang. I ran away from the orphanage and have been living on the streets since. I found an old abandoned subway station to make my home. I also remember seeing Stark Industries in a newspaper once or twice. So I must be in Marvel but which one MCU, MCU/XMEN, Comics? Regardless I am not in immediate danger no one should know about this station. That being said I have a total of 2.47 dollars to my name so I need to secure food and money and renovate this place to be livable. Let's go to the library first and research where I am.'
I get up and go towards the tunnel I use to get to the surface. Once I get close to the surface I open my senses and try to sense anybody nearby. As I do this the System sends a message.

'Got it so I need 100 USD if I want to buy out the Gacha Tokens for this month. Now I need to figure out what the date is as I apparently never cared about said info all I know is it has been 8 Winters since I ran away so I am probably 18ish.'
As I walk to the local library I get stopped by a mugger.
Mugger: "Hand over all your money and you won't get hurt!"
Rio: "You don't want to do this."
I use a Jedi mind trick and it seems to work as he relaxes a bit.
Mugger: "I don't want to do this."
Rio: "You feel sorry for troubling me."
Mugger: "I am sorry for troubling you."
Rio: "You want to pay me for my troubles, and go home and rethink your life decisions."
Mugger: "Here is some cash, sorry for bothering you, I need to go home and rethink my life."
He hands me 80 dollars in cash and walks away.
'I always wanted to do that, let's get going and see if anyone else tries to cause trouble.'
Turns out yes I was going to get stopped again. But I left that encounter 52 dollars richer so it was a win. I walk into the public library and look for a computer to do some research on.
'There we are let's see. Ok, so it is currently October 31st, 2005 so almost no time difference from when I left the last world. I need to buy the Gacha Tokens Today. I think Tony was kidnapped in 2008 and the Hulk happened a few years prior. Now is there an Xmen? Nope doesn't look like it, but there is a Wolverine as he is shown with the Howling Commandos. Therefore possible the X-Men could just be hidden but I doubt it as there is no Charles Xavier or any paper written by him.'
As I am researching I notice someone approaching. When I look it's just the librarian.
Librarian: "Have you found everything you need."
'I sense disgust and anger towards me, so she wants me to leave.'
Rio: "I am almost done I will be leaving within the hour."
Librarian: "I see, let me know if you need help."
'Such strong anger and even a bit of hatred perhaps, Stop thinking like a Sith that's not who you are.'
Rio: "I will do so if I need any help."
'Now back to what I was looking for ah yes, Wilson Fisk and Oscorp. Okay, both exist but no news of Spider-Man so likely doesn't exist yet. SHIELD has a public office in Washington DC so they exist. No Latveria and no F4. AIM and Hammer Industries exist. Many media companies don't exist yet so perhaps a money-making avenue? I can only find so much on the internet some will require more in-depth investigation. Overall fairly quiet at this point in the timeline. System use 100 dollars to buy 10 Gacha Tokens.'

'Neat a new perk for stealth I must have been training it in this body before my memories reawakened. I mean I do have memories of being great at sneaking around without being noticed. I think I have done all the research I want to do for now. I think I should go shopping with the just about 35 dollars I have. I should be able to buy a sleeping bag or maybe a cot but that would take all my money so I should stick with a sleeping bag or maybe just sleep in my astral realm. System can I enter my Astral realm without drawing attention?'

'Good then I am sleeping there tonight. Once I get my base more healthy and comfy I will get Riolu out of my inventory. I can't raise a Pokemon in squalor conditions or I would be a terrible trainer.'
I leave the library and start to walk back to my home or base whatever one would call it. It doesn't take long to get back as I wasn't stopped this time.
'Hmm, Happy Halloween to me I guess. I want to go redistribute some wealth so I can buy more Gacha Tokens tomorrow and roll 20 Gacha. It should be easy to gather more money to redecorate as there are plenty of criminals around.'
5 Hours later...
'Where's an Easy button when you need it as that was very easy. Everyone around here has a weak mind so all I need to do is mind trick them and they give me everything with no hassle. Let's see I got 911 dollars for 5 hours of work a bit ominous but that's 182 dollars an hour. Well, time to retire for the night.'
I will myself to enter the astral realm and when I open my eyes I see a field of teal and white stars. (See comments for Picture). I step onto what I can only assume is the ground in a place with no real up or down its hard to say. I start by imagining a bed made of clouds that I can lay down on. Then I imagine a fully stocked bathroom and a laundry room. I enter the bathroom to see if it is functional and it is. I then leave and put my clothing in the wash.'
'Perfect, Now I can clean myself as I smell like what I imagine a Bantha smells like. Now after this, I guess I should lay out a rough plan on where to go from here. I know I will need to get resources and allies. I must make sure to steal the Space Stone as I figure without that or the Time Stone Thanos becomes far more manageable. I mean the Soul and Mind Stone are basically useless against me and the Power Stone is out of my reach anyway. The only one that could be slightly problematic is the Reality Stone but I think I will be able to work around it or eventually become immune to it. In the short term, I need to make a company to make money and probably start hunting criminals to get some cash as I somehow doubt I will be able to sell all the gold I stole from the Twilight Universe without catching a lot of attention. The other materials are for R and D for any future products. Regardless I should retire for the night and draw Gacha tomorrow.'
I lay down on the bed of clouds and I have to admit this is the best bed I have ever felt.
'I can see why so many beings from gods to mortals use clouds as bedding if they can. I remember the quote "Ahh I see why you love these clouds so much very plush." I have to admit that is an understatement. Oh, here I go sleeping again.
And with that, Rio falls asleep but as he sleeps a wisp of black smoke leaves him and fuses with the astral realm, and the astral realm flickers black and then returns to normal as if nothing changed.

There you have it we have entered the MCU I just want to say there will be no massive amounts of Mutants in the story besides a few here and there as I think the MCU and X-Men Universes might be a bit too much for me to try and fit it in one book especially since it is my first book. Also, Gacha draws in the next chapter, leave any suggestions in the comments. I will be deciding what Rio gets with a random wheel generator with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions. In the meantime Ciao.
