บท 20: 20- The Parliament

Next day early in the morning outside the black bulls hideout.

*CLANK CLANK*

Noah and Asta were training their swordsmanship. Noah wasn't using any mana to empower his physical abilities. Just his pure physical power. Even then, he was able to keep up with Asta.

*CLANK CLANK*

Asta dodged Noah and sent another slash towards his left side.

*CLANK*

Noah blocked and then bent his knees a little and then lunged at Asta

*CLANK CLANK*

Another block then a deflection from Asta, this gave him an opening to attack Noah

{Kokken}

Suddenly another black sword formed next to Noah, he then grabbed it and covered his opening. Using the new sword to block, Noah was able to use his other hand to attack from Asta.

"Demon-Dweller" Asta said as another sword flew out of his grimoire, Asta grabbed and blocked Noah.

"Let's stop here for now" - Noah jumped back and said. He then looked to the side and a portal opened up and an owl came through with two letter.

The owl flew to Noah and dropped two letter in his hands, before it flew back into the portal. Opening the first letter, he couldn't help but smile. He then reached into the letter and took out a very small disk shaped object. Noah then opened the second one, he saw that it was a summons from the parliament.

Noah went inside took a quick sower, got dressed, and then took off towards the capital, where the parliament HQ is.

Noah reached the parliament on time. Walking through a set of doors, Noah found himself in the middle of a huge cylindrical meeting room.

Noah looked around he saw many people sitting around.

'Is there a criteria to picking these people? Why are all of them fat?' - Noah was thinking as he looked around

[Why are all of them fat? Is that necessary to do this job?] - Draco asked

[hahahah no, Draco. It's just that these people sit on their asses all day long, so they get fat over time] - Noah had to fight hard to not laugh out loud

"Noah Silva. You have been summoned here to answer the questions we have for you. Bare in mind that these questions are very sensitive and you have to answ-

"Who are you talking to!?" - Noah shouted at the fat man who started speaking. The fat man got startled by the shout.

"Summoned? Have to?" - Noah said as he walked closer to the center of the meeting room. As he got to the center he subtly reached his hand into his pocket before he pressed a small button.

"A mere noble telling me, a royal how to behave. You must think your family is big enough to challenge the royal families, huh?" - Noah said with tone of anger and threatening

Gasps filled the room after what Noah said.

"YOU summoned no one. I came here out of my own choice. I don't answer to YOU. I can tell you to go die in a hole, and you have to thank me for giving you such a great idea, am I clear?!" - Noah said the last part with more anger as mana waves leaked out of his body

"That's enough! I don't care if you're a royal or not. Don't disrespect the parliament hall" - Damnatio finally spoke

Noah locked eyes with Damnatio. At first Damnatio was holding the glare, but Noah's eyes seemed to pierce into his soul.

Damnatio swallowed his saliva, "Please" he added.

"Fine. But don't let that monkey speak to me again. I'll only answer questions asked from a royal member. I don't care if this is the parliament hall or the circus, there is a food chain, and I'm at the top, so act accordingly" - Noah said to the rest of nobles

[Noah?] - Draco suddenly spoke

[What is Draco?] - Noah asked

[What are you doing? I though you were her for their help] - Draco

[Sure I am. But this is more like...a rawer. You know how some animals rawer at each other to show who's stronger? This is the human version of that] - Noah explained

[I see. I guess since they all quitted down and only the guy in the center is speaking to you, that means you won?] - Draco

[Kind of. I can take on the fat monkey. He knows that, that's why he quitted down, but the guy in the center is more of an equal, so we stopped at a stalemate] - Noah

"You have accused two high nobles of committing unspeakable acts against out kingdom's citizens. You realize that this is a very serious case" - Damnatio

"I'm sure the wizard king and the mage HQ had sent you all of our findings" - Noah said plainly

"Yes, but findings can be fabricated" - Someone from Noah's right suddenly said.

Noah turned his head quickly and scanned the crowd with angry eyes, "Who said that? Which one of you monkeys spoke out of turn?"

"This is unacceptable! I don't care if you're a royal or not. You have to show us respect!" - Someone from Noah's left stood up as he shouted

"Quite" - Damnatio commanded. He was seeing the smile on Noah's face. He knew that this whole thing was some set up done by him. Just yesterday, the wizard king, and Noah were being very cooperative, and upfront about their intentions. So what changed?

Noah just stood there not bothering with the ruckus.

"Lets start with the mission. Tell us how you came to find your first lead?" - Damnatio

Noah spent some time recounting how the whole thing happened

"Don't you think that you persecuting a high noble, no two high nobles because of what you found in a brothel isn't smart?" - Damnatio

"Damnatio, did you read anything we sent you before? Did you not see the part where we used memory magic on her and extracted her memories. Maybe the part where we solved different missing people's cases because of her memories, did you not read that?" - Noah asked sarcastically, which angered the nobles.

"There are rules and laws. Those are what separates us from beasts. We have to conduct more investigating, before we can pass any judgment" - Damnatio

Everyone was quite, waiting for Noah to speak.

"There is a better way to go about this, that is if the propose of this parliament is truly to uphold justice. Not a glorified den of liars" - Noah said in a tone of questioning

Everyone in the room was shocked by Noah's accusation. They all went into an uproar.

"How dare you?! This is the parliament, we uphold justice no matter what" - Someone shouted

"It's true that you're a royal, but even then is too much" - Someone else shouted

'What is going on? Why does the place seem to be in chaos. And him. He seems to be in control, he wants them to be in an uproar. But why?' - Damnatio was analyzing the whole situation, but before his brain can come up with a solution.

"So you're telling me that if there is a way to show the truth, you would take it!" - Noah shouted

"We will always do our best to find the truth" - Someone shouted

"Even if it's to read their memories?!" - Noah shouted with anger

"Even if we red their memories" - Someone shouted in pure anger

"Great! Marx come on in!" - Noah called at the same time as he clicked the same button again.

The whole place got quite. All the emotions that were at an all time high had quitted down. Marx entered the room and made his way to the center, next to Noah.

[Noah? What just happened? Please explain] - Draco

[Earlier in the day I got a letter rom the wizard king. In today's meeting I was supposed to have support from some nobles. But those bastards had either withheld the time of the meeting from them, or they did something shady to delay them. So he sent me a magic item that enhances peoples' anger. But that wasn't enough. Everyone in the room was on their side. For me to allow the use of magic on the parliament members, I had to gain the approval of at least one person in a seat. All I had to do was rile them up a bit then have them shout at me. And Marx was on standby, ordered by the wizard king] - Noah explained

[Humans are very weird] - Draco

[Oh Draco, you have to idea. I'm a human and even I think humans are the weirdest of all] - Noah

"Well since we gained the approval of one person in the meeting, and we have the defendants present, and we also have an individual who can preform the magic necessary. I say we start right away" - Noah said with a huge smile on his face

Damnatio was not happy at all, but Noah ignored him for now.

"Come on down here gentlemen. I promise it wont hurt at all" - Noah looked at one side of the room where some high nobles were seated

Noah then turned to Damnatio. "Damnatio, why don't you tell them to come on down here. I have a lot of things to do. I still have to report to the king after this" - Noah

Damnatio had to order the nobles to step into the center. He had to follow the king's court's rules, otherwise the king would have a meting with Damnatio later. This would be a good chance for one of the other royal members to take his spot.

It has been an entire hour since Marx had came into the room. They had read the minds of the nobles, and they were able to finally convict them. And with a well timed entrance, Nozel and Mereoleona were able to replace them with the two families they chose before.

After it was all done, Nozel flew away, and Mereoleona just left. Marx had went to report to the wizard king, and Noah was tasked with reporting to the king.

As Noah was walking out of the parliament HQ. He was stopped by Damnatio.

"I didn't appreciate the way you acted in my parliament" - Damnatio

"Your parliament?...hahahaha Damnatio, just like you I was also a chess piece for this whole act" - Noah

"Really?" - Damnatio asked in surprise

"No, you were the only fool in there hahahah. An advice for you Damnatio. How about you make sure that "your parliament" is actually fair next time. You were getting manipulated in there, we won because we were better at manipulating you" - Noah said as he jumped on his broom and sped off before Damnatio can respond.
