In a place in that very same forest, not so faraway from the previous events, there lay a group of bandits.
These bandits were doing just what bandits do, robbing and generally being a pain in the ass for the general populace.
"Please we gave you all of our money! Release us like you promised!" The pleading cries of the middle aged pot-bellied merchant rang out.
He was currently squirming and flailing trying to break away from a big grimy bandit who held him in his clutched, a big toothy grin plastered over his not so pretty face.
"Quite down alright." Said another bandit who was slightly cleaner looking than the rest.
On his face were two squinty eyes that were narrowed in calculative thought.
His dark grey leather boots standing in a pool of a young guards blood beneath his feet.
A black cape with faint blood stains addorned his broad shouldered back and was clasped together to be held in the front of a well muscled chest by a bronze clasp with a pair of antlers sticking out on either sides of it.
One small piece of topaz embedded in the clasp in the position an eye would be, while on the other side a small nook was seen seemingly where a identical piece of topaz had once been embedded but had at some point fallen out and departed from its mate.
"Stupid bugger, dirtying boss's revered boots!" Shouted a third bandit who was dressed in threadbare woolen clothing and tattered leather armor, or atleast what used to be leather armor, it now resembled a cows hide thay had been shredded by a vicious wolfs claws.
Behind the bandits in the bushes a child hid shivering, looking upon the scene of carnage before him.
Never had he seen blood from flow from someone who had died. Much less someone who he had come to be aqquainted with, and having to watch the life fade from their eyes.
Their family had traveled with a merchant and his respective guard to save money on traveling through Sunblade Forest but never did they think for a moment that the merchants 30 guards wouldnt be enough to handle a measely 12 bandits.
The bandits had appearred out of nowhere and the childs uncle had thrown him into the bushes nearby as soon as the bandits made their presence known.
The uncle had seemed to sense something amiss in the way the bandits had willingly engaged a number over twice their size.
His uncle had taken down 3 bandits before being severely wounded where he now lay with his back against their familys carriage panting and groaning slightly from the dizzying pain that seered out to the rest of his body from his right shoulder and right kneecap.
The third bandit he had been fighting summoned a seemingly low level spirit mount and commanded it to attack all of the mans party, severly wounding and incapacitating over 3/4's of their guard. Left with only a handful of guards standing, the bandits quickly lobbed off their heads before the guards even had a chance to regroup.
It was truely a sad sight for the uncle and three merchants of the caravan.
It was at this moment that the uncle knew he had made the right choice by pushing the child into a hiding spot upon the begining of the battle.
Just before the uncle had managed to kill the beast, it had kicked at his kneecap and busted it making him uncle to bear weight upon that leg and subsequently rendering him unable to stand and disabling his battle above average battle prowess in mere moments.
It would be considered a miracle that he had somehow thrust his sword up into the beasts chest cavity as he fell down to the ground. Otherwise the beast would of most likely sensed the child hidden nearby with its animalistic senses.
Just as the leader was about to command the rest to exterminate the rest of the caravan, a black haired little girl suddenly flashed to stand in front of him, seemingly appearing out of thin air.
"I thought I smelt something yummy, to bad the beast is already dead. Now it won't be as fresh..." uttered the little girl a frown appearing on her small, pearl like face.
The dark green eyes upon her small pale face slowly changed their gradient into blindling bright green, and her pupils slowly filled with a tiny red dot in the middle.
"Oh well!" The girl said cheerily the frown on her face quickly being replaced by a wicked grin.
