"Hey Peter wake up"

Lyra was initially worried about the fact that Peter had been made to sleep in the barn.

She knew of her father's suspicions towards strangers — most especially due to what she had been told he suffered while growing up.

By showing hospitality to a group of strangers — who turned out to be heartless murderers — Mr Dreyson's parents lost their lives.

After that experience — he had made a silent vow — never to show hospitality to any stranger, except he had been able to verify their identity.

Lyra couldn't really sleep — which meant that she had stayed awake all through the night — tossing and turning on the bed till it was dawn.

Coming to the barn and finding Peter on a clump of hay made her quite sad.

Coming closer to him, she could hear him snoring — which gave her quite the surprise.

'He's asleep?'

Lyra came and stood before his sleeping figure.

After sometime — she tapped him gently.
