บท 19: Keep a tab on her

VALENCIA'S POV

"Is everything alright?" Aiden asked me as soon as I plopped back into my chair with a scowl.

Apart from the fact that I just got threatened, a particularly scary alpha, known for his deep-rooted hatred for the rogues, just indirectly told me they would hunt me down if I tried to run away, and most importantly, I knew that every word he said was probably right and he really won't hesitate to pull out my heart? Yeah. Everything was perfectly fine.

I wanted to say all those words to him but then took a deep breath to calm my raging heart.

"Everything is good. He just wanted to ask me if I was okay with the arrangements and told me that he chose me because I had the worst credits in the class and wanted to help me a little," I said before forcing a smile at him.

Aiden looked at me as if he didn't believe a word I said. But he didn't comment on that and just nodded before leaning back, his hand instinctively going behind my chair.
