With fluid movements, Artios struck at the fresh spring morning air in an imaginary battle. His blows were precise and powerful, creating a slight shockwave around him.

With his bastard sword in hand, he moved from right to left with speed, without losing his breath. But that morning, something was different. His concentration was shallow and his attention seemed to drift away from the training yard.

— You seem distracted today, my king — Kalmir said, his voice calm and deep. — Is something bothering you?

Artios took a deep breath, relaxed his shoulders, and looked at Kalmir. His eyes showed that something was weighing on his mind.

— You don't miss a thing, do you? — the king replied, panting.

— I've known Your Majesty since you were a boy and have stood by your side for many years. I know when something troubles you.
