The silence stretched between Su Jiyai and the system, thick with tension. 

"Well?" she said, her voice low and sharp. "Are you going to continue your half-truths, or are we done playing games?"

The system's voice, when it finally responded, was laced with something close to resignation.

[I admit, Host, I've been withholding information. Not because I want to deceive you, but because the knowledge you seek is dangerous. Knowing too much too soon could put you at greater risk.]

Su Jiyai's laugh was cold and bitter.

"Dangerous? I'm already living in a world overrun by zombies. What could possibly be more dangerous than that?"

[You're not wrong,] the system said carefully.

[But the forces behind this apocalypse are beyond your comprehension. There are things that even I cannot fully understand. All the things which you said were true.]
