The loud sound of the wooden white door of their apartment opened as abruptly as it shut, bringing the girl named Sophia insight to her roommate that was nonchalantly minding her business till that very moment. The purpled hair girl crooked an eyebrow at her friend as she observed her heavy breathing and her wavy black hair falling messily from her usual neat bun.
Some sweat was visible on her forehead, dripping down her skin, making her look like she had by running in a marathon or something and that left Lisa with no other choice but to grow curious about her actions.
"What up with you?" Lisa asked before she proceeded to step out of the kitchen with a sandwich in her hand.
" You will not believe who I saw just now, getting inside the elevator. "Sophia replied as she rushed to the couch and literally threw her bag across the room.
" Wow, what got into you? "Another voice was heard that belongs to a girl named Dimitra. She had just stepped out of her room -with her brown long hair still half wet as she had left them half dried- and into the living room where her two friends and roommates were.
" Hello people! Are you listening to me?! I am telling you I was shocked. "Sophia continued while leaving her tired body rest on the couch.
" Who the heck did you see?! Just say it already. "Lisa rolled her eyes at her, now slightly impatient from all her dragging.
" I saw my Ex-, can you believe it?! "
The two girls simultaneously turned their gazes towards Sophia and proceeded to stare at her with wide eyes as they were left speechless for a moment, hearing the news that Sophia just delivered to them.
" Seriously!? "Dimitra asked, now a spark of interest and curiosity shining on her eyes as she went and took a seat next to Sophia on the couch.
" Are you referring to that ex of yours that was younger than us? "Lisa asked before taking one more bite from her sandwich, swiping her surprise away quickly.
" Yes, that one. Do you think he moved to this building or something? Oh God, I don't even want to think of such a possibility. "Sophia whined as her expression changed to a displeased one, her mind going in chaos at the thought and only of such a thing happening.
" Oh come on. Why are you being like this? You broke up and the past is in the past. You don't need to stress over this. "Dimitra advised her trying to make her feel a little better.
Lisa on the other hand was just trying to keep quiet and not let her laughter be heard which was caused by a little mischievous thought that had crossed her mind.
" Lisa shut up! "Sophia told her, already having a guess of what that evil mind of hers might have thought about.
Dimitra threw her a confused look not having grasped the situation yet and that made Lisa unable to hold back her laughter any longer.
" Have you gone crazy?! The heck are you laughing about?" Dimitra yelled at her then threw at her a pillow that unfortunately did not catch its target.
"Sorry, sorry. It's just... I think you misunderstood Sophia my little innocent Dimitra. She is not like this cause she saw him again but because there is a possibility she will see him more often now, and he might have become handsome as hell and she ain't sure if she will be able to resist the temptation. "As Lisa finished her sentence she was met with another pillow that once again was thrown at her, this time not missing its the target that was non-other than her face. Unfortunately though as that happened, the precious sandwich slipped from her hand landing on the floor.
"Sophia~~, look what you did now. My poor sandwich." She whined while now was Sophia's and Dimitra's turn to laugh at her.
The doorbell that rung suddenly interrupted the fit of laughter and Lisa that currently was the only one standing, went to open the door after she jokingly made an annoyed face towards her friends, that were still giggling at her loss.
After she opened up, she came face to face with a young guy that seemed around her age.
"Emm... Hello. I am the new neighbour. Emm... I wanted to ask for your help with something if it's not a bother, obviously." The young man spoke up, his nervousness visible from the way he spoke as well as the awkward hand movements that he kept doing while speaking.
" Sure, as long as it's within my power. I can help. "Lisa responded politely while she was finding his nervousness kinda cute and laughable enough but she held herself back from snickering at the thought that she could come off as rude to a stranger.
" Well, I kinda got locked out of my apartment and I happened to leave my phone inside. I have roommates but I rang the bell however they didn't seem to listen, so... "
" You need a phone to call them so they can open up for you?" Lisa interrupted the guy, filling the sentence with what she assumed to be a logical request and the guy nodded his head in approval, a shy smile dancing on his lips.
Lisa left him there as she went inside to grab her smartphone that she had left on the table, in the living room. Before returning to the door though she whispered to her friends "It's a silly guy that got locked out of his own apartment."
The girls laughed a little at her words and then got up from their seats to take a peek at the guy that was waiting at the front door.
Lisa handed her smartphone to the guy and after some minutes that lasted his call with his roommates, he returned the phone to her and thanked her with a smile.
Lisa was ready to close the door behind her but a voice stopped her making her look at the guy that was holding her up, now a little annoyed that he was eating her precious time.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't even introduce myself. How rude of me. I am Jamie." The guy that apparently was named Jamie stretched out his hand for a handshake and Lisa didn't hesitate to take it, not wanting to lose any extra time with him and finally be able to go back to watching that movie she was planning to before her crazy friend barged in.
After that small introduction and exchange of formal polite fake words, she closed the door and returned to the living room, finding herself under the playful gazes of her two friends, Sophia's and Dimitra's.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" She questioned as she took a seat on the couch, opposite them.
"He was cute," Dimitra said, her main purpose being to tease her friend as Lisa was known for her temper and aggressiveness especially towards males yet she seemed to have behaved rather politely with that one fellow. It wasn't on her character to not flip on someone especially when his request literally had nothing to do with her and did not benefit her in any way.
"Not only cute. He was hot. And had manners. He even introduced himself." Sophia continued the teasing, knowing well how much it bothered Lisa whenever they talked about relationships because she was someone that did not believe in romantic love and for that reason, she had never dated anyone nor had had a crush on anyone as far as she had let them know that is.
"Dimitra, I want ice cream. Go buy some." Lisa said as she chose to ignore all their teasing and change the subject.
"Me again? Why is it always me~!?" Dimitra whined, fed up with the fact that she seemed to always be the one that they send to do chores.
"As you can see, Sophia is half dead and I am hella lazy, so just go since I love you so so much" Lisa responded to her while making a cute face in an attempt to pursue her but Sophia threw another pillow at her, smashing that annoying cute face of hers.
"You are lucky I want to buy something for me or else you would be eating ice cream in your dreams, my dear," Dimitra said as she kept giggling then got up and grabbed her purse, keys and coat and out of the door, she went, leaving behind two crazy girls that started a pillow fight.
After a good ten minutes, Dimitra found herself at the entrance of their apartment building, going to the elevator and waiting for it to come after she pressed the button.
It took some seconds for the elevator to arrive and she got inside, pressing the number on her floor.
As the door was closing up, at the last moment a handheld it up, and as the door reopened, a young guy entered, making Dimitra's eyes go wide, facing such a good looking male.
She kept her distance from him positioning herself at one side of the elevator, looking only at the numbers that were laying ahead of her as her mind started wondering how come there were so many new faces going around today in their apartment building. She had been living there for two years now and rarely they had visitors besides the residents.
The young guy suddenly took a step closer towards her, making her replace the distance by taking one more step further, but unfortunately, the lift was not so spacious so her shoulder didn't take long to come in contact with the metallic cover of the elevator's wall.
"Can I help you with something Sir?" She asked him politely, hiding her confusion and nervousness about why he had close the distance between them. However, she felt a little scared and creeped out too, as the young man was staring at her intensely.
The young guy gifted her a thin smile before closing the distance between them even more.
"Don't worry. It won't take long." He said now closer to Dimitra that it's allowed to a stranger to be. A placement that made her scared enough to act in a way she was to regret.
