"We still don't know what kind of creatures are in there," Miya said, somehow still not moved by the sight of gigantic forest. "How about we scout over there first and then go on after we know it's safe?"
"I think that's a good idea, if the creature follows the scout after entering, it would be easier for us to deal with it in an open area like this," Nagata said.
"It would take too much time," Nakahara said, pondering. "And besides, what would happen if the scout didn't come back,"
"What are you afraid of?" asked Uchimura while he punched his other palms and said proudly. "I was here with you, so don't worry about the monster."
"Alright, how about we rest here tonight, and then after the sun rises, we continue our journey," Yoshihama said, ignoring Uchimura's remark. "We should avoid confrontation as much as possible, but if we get ambushed, then we either fight back or run away if we can't handle it."
"The dangerous part was at night when we couldn't see anything, it seems to be dark over there," Nakahara said. "With huge branches from the trees, I'm not sure if we can even see anything in there."
"I think the couples guard wasn't enough," Takeuchi said worriedly. "We need more weapons just in case, and of course, it would be safer if we didn't fight anything."
"Don't be such a coward!" shouted Uchimura, raising his hands and saying excitedly. "We were men! We fought like men!"
"Yeah, we were a man but we still need a plan." Takeuchi replied, sighing.
"You all just too tense with this," Yoshihama said calmly. "As I said before, we only move when the sun rises, and if there is a fight we can avoid, then we avoid it".
"Alright, let's go!" Uchimura shouted and ran into the forest.
"Didn't you say we rest first?" Nagata said, looking at Uchimura who was running excitedly toward the forest.
"Don't worry about him, he would come back again," Nakahara said as we looked for a spot to rest.
I hope it goes smoothly... Takeuchi thought hopefully.
That gigantic forest has a creepy and dark atmosphere that makes the forest more intimidating every time Takeuchi sees it. Takeuchi hope they don't get caught or found by anything strange when they were in the forest.
Their afternoon and night passed without incident, and when morning came, they started to walk toward the gigantic forest. The giant tree became like a building in their eyes, so enormous that they felt really small compared to it.
Takeuchi was amazed not only by its size but also by its quantity. If it were just one, it would be an iconic place. But giant trees were everywhere, and when he looked at them, he wondered if they had grown from small trees before.
The sound of cicadas echoing around makes the silent atmosphere filled with eerie and calming feelings. They don't talk much in here for fear of awakening something beyond their reach.
The more they go in, the more darkness covers them, but fortunately, there were light blue mushrooms everywhere allowing them to see their surroundings.
The smell of the wet trunk and the combination of plants and small animals, fill their lungs, making the forest characteristic with its smell.
The air here is so fresh than the outside, the forest as a vacation place really doesn't just talk... Takeuchi thought.
After being affected by pollution in the modern city for so long, he feels alive again just smelling the air here.
Whoever planted the trees wasn't human, I think, I had never been in the forest before, but there was something wrong with this forest, except for their massive size, the smell was different, I think I'd better be careful because this gigantic forest wasn't just a normal forest... Takeuchi thought as he looked around the trees who was so gigantic around him.
"Woah! It was my first time in the forest, I don't know if it would be like this," Hatano said, not knowing whether to laugh or not.
"It looks like the branches manage to block out the sun," a young man with a large build said as he looked around.
Wearing a uniform from their high school, the figure who just talked had a large build body which helped him to defend the ball goal, he was a goalkeeper in the soccer club. His posture was straight, but his attitude was quite laid back, considering that his large body was relatively daunting.
He was Oyakawa Koji, who joined a soccer club like Yoshihama. With brown eyes and a long hair bun, the features on his face were ordinary compared to the others.
"Be careful, we don't know what might happen," Yoshihama warned as he tightened his grip on the wooden stick spear he was holding.
The atmosphere was quiet as they traveled deeper into the forest, except for the sound of cicadas, the stream of a river and their grimacing footsteps no one is making sound.
Sometimes there was the sound of howling and strange sounds that Takeuchi don't know what kind of creatures make, as it broke the sound of cicadas and the streaming of a river.
Their footsteps were the most faithful companions, as everyone was too tired and scared to speak. Since they still haven't found anything to eat.
"How long have we been walking?" a young man's voice asked, breaking the silence after they were been walking for a while.
Adachi Rinji. Takeuchi doesn't know much about him, he was transferred to their class in their second year. He had a face that made people forget him easily, at least for Takeuchi, so he didn't think much about him. But Takeuchi once heard, there was a rumor that he occasionally sneaked into the Red District.
He wore a uniform just like the rest of them, with brown eyes and a medium-sized body. He wasn't that tall, but he was tall enough to meet Yoshihama's eyes. With a short curly mohawk haircut and handsome features on his face, he was more than enough to be popular among the girls.
"I don't know, I can't even tell what time it is!" the girl's voice replied, sounding tired.
Fukaya Chisato, who had joined the dance club. She was really pretty and popular with the boys, with a bun on her head. And with cute features on her face and cheerful and energetic, she stood out from the other students, especially in our classroom. Still wearing her dance uniform, she was transported while she was in her club rooms, Takeuchi assumed.
"Don't worry, as long as we hang in there, we'll be there soon," Oyakawa reassured her.
"Oyakawa was right, if you get tired, we will find a place to rest soon enough," Yoshihama assured.
