The faint sound of the car’s engine drilled Remi’s mind, but not as hard as her aggressive thoughts did. She buried her face in her hands rather harshly and let go of an annoyed groan. With her eyes closed she replayed the sad aftermath of the night in her mind. And blowing air from her lips she was grateful that Hugo wasn’t taking her home and instead had just sent a car for her. This way she wouldn’t need to mask her disappointment in herself. She rubbed her close lids with her hands one more time before looking outside the window with a slight pout. ‘Where did I go wrong?’ she asked herself, as she tried to recall which was the moment when things started to go south with Coen.
