After the dinner ended, everyone paid for their share of the meal and headed home. Si Ming offered to send Feng Jiu home, so they left together.
"So... how are things between you and Yu Xi now?" Feng Jiu asked curiously. Si Ming had a big smile on his face and replied, "It's going really well. I'm just worried about her family and Su Moye. I actually did work with him a few times. Although he's a well-known womanizer, he's really serious at work."
"Hmm... I'm just thinking of ways to get him to call off the engagement. Should I use the soft or tough method?"
Si Ming pondered for a while before responding, "Hmm... We don't really know how he's like so we have to observe him first."
"Yeah. That's what I thought too. It's okay; we will come up with a plan eventually."
Si Ming nodded his head, and then he asked, "So... How are things between you and Dong Hua?" Feng Jiu suddenly remembered that she still didn't reply to Dong Hua's text messages.
She thought to herself, "It will be somewhat weird for me to ask Si Ming for his phone to text Dong Hua so I'll just reply back to him when I'm home. I doubt he's even waiting for my reply, and he's probably still busy at work. I hope he ate his meals!"
Then she replied, "Hmm... We are just good friends now. Dong Hua is really different from the cold Dong Hua that I knew back then."
"Oh? Have you ever wondered why he's like that? He's still cold to everyone else." Si Ming said.
"Well. That's because we are good friends now."
"Maybe it's more than that? Both Lian Song and I knew him for years, but he's still cold to us."
Feng Jiu pondered, "Hmm... Maybe Si Ming is right?" Then she replied, "I guess, I would observe and see for myself. I'm just afraid to get hurt again."
Si Ming smiled, "Sometimes you have to take the risk and give it another chance. I mean, just open your eyes to see and open your heart to feel. That's what you're always telling others, but maybe you should use that on yourself."
Feng Jiu nodded her head gently, and she smiled, "I guess I could try. I mean, I'll just try to observe but at the same time, not having any false hopes." Then she thought to herself, "Time will tell."
Si Ming then changed the topic, "So, how is Qingti doing? I didn't get a chance to visit him at all."
"Well, I also feel guilty for not visiting him more often. But it's just... Whenever I see Qingti, I felt immense guilt towards him, and it also reminds me of all the past sad memories. But Cha Cha has been visiting him at least three times a week. The doctor said that he wouldn't be awake anytime soon as well. I used most of my savings to pay for his hospital's bills. Luckily, Dong Hua is giving me free meals for lunch now so I could save even more money for him."
Si Ming sighed and replied, "I know you're a person who dislikes asking help from others, but if you do need help, feel free to approach me."
"I will." Feng Jiu smiled at Si Ming. Then she suddenly recalled something, "Oh ya! I have something to tell you. When I visited Qingti the other day, I actually overheard Cha Cha confessing her feelings to him. I didn't want to ask Cha Cha about it because she might be embarrassed about it. I'm sure she would tell me about it when she's ready."
"Really? I couldn't even tell that she had feelings for Qingti. I guess it's good that she's taking care of him now so that you can focus on earning more money. It also gives her a chance to spend some alone time with him."
"Yeah, I'm so grateful for friends like Cha Cha. She's been helping me out a lot, and I need to find some time to meet up with her. But now, I need to focus on getting into that competition that you told me about during dinner. I need to win the $50,000 cash, and then I'll bring Cha Cha along to Europe as well."
"I'm sure you'll have a high chance of winning. I'll let you know if I receive any more details about it."
Right at this point, they arrived at her building. "Have a good rest and thanks for sending me back home again." Feng Jiu said, and she waved goodbye to Si Ming. He replied, "No worries. Go and have an early rest too." Then he drove off and headed back home.
----------------------------------------
Feng Jiu hopped into the shower first when she got home because she reeked of the food smell from the hotpot restaurant. She thought to herself in the shower, "I think I should get Dong Hua a present for his birthday instead of baking him a cake. I'll be going to the market first so it won't be convenient to carry the cake. I mean, I want it to be a surprise too, and he would definitely notice the cake. But what should I get?"
She finished up with her shower and all of a sudden, she had an idea for his birthday present. "I know! I can get him a tie. Hmm... He's always wearing a black tie. I guess I'm going to get him a purple tie, at least it's something different. I don't know why, but I feel that a purple tie would suit him too. Okay, I'll head to the shopping mall tomorrow evening to get him one."
Feng Jiu sprawled out her bed, thinking about her day. "It's nice that everyone is having their own happy endings. I can't believe Jie Lu and Xiao Yan are already dating. I'm so happy for them. And hopefully, Meng Shao and Meng Qi will get together someday too. I mean, he's been having a crush on me for so long, and I know how hard that is. I'm just thinking... Will Dong Hua ever like me back?" Then she started rolling around on the bed.
"What should I cook for Dong Hua on his birthday? Hmm... Maybe Sliced fish tofu soup since Dong Hua likes soup. Oh, definitely king crab legs with melted butter dip! I need to rip him off. And not forgetting the prawns, oysters, scallops as well! Also crayfish, lobsters, abalone!" She started laughing to herself while thinking about food.
"But... Can we even finish eating all the food? It seems a little too much. Oh! I forgot the most important dish. Longevity Noodles 长寿面 (Chang Shou Mian)."
Longevity Noodles 长寿面 (Chang Shou Mian) -
It's a Chinese tradition to eat it on your birthday.
But in recent years, many people stop practising this tradition.
The noodles represent your lifeline, and because the noodles are long, it means that you will live a long life.
Feng Jiu continued to roll around and started kicking her blankets as well. After a while, she felt sleepy, but she suddenly remembered that she had to charge her phone.
She ran towards her bag and took her phone out. "Hmm... Why do I feel like I forget something? My alarm? It can't be, I set it on automatic-mode for every weekdays' morning."
She sat on her bed and plugged her phone into the phone charger. "Oh! I forgot to reply back to Dong Hua. I'll send him a quick text before bed." As her phone's battery was totally flat, she would need to plug it in for sometime before it would be switched on automatically.
Feng Jiu lay down on her bed while waiting for it to be switched on. She began yawning, and her eyes were getting heavy. She looked over to her phone a few times, but it was still switched off. Then Feng Jiu fell asleep while waiting.
----------------------------------------
On the other side, Dong Hua was still waiting for her reply. He checked his phone every 5 minutes to see if she replied.
"It's already 11 PM, why is she still not replying?" Then he called her phone again, but the line was still not going through.
Dong Hua felt uneasy and worried. "Did something happen to her?" Then he decided to fish some information from Si Ming.
Dong Hua called Si Ming. On the other side, Si Ming was already in bed, and he was startled by the buzzing phone. "Why is Dong Hua calling me now?! Am I in trouble?" Si Ming thought to himself, and he quickly sat up and answered the phone.
Si Ming: *Grouchy voice* Hello?
Dong Hua: You're asleep already?
Si Ming: *rolls eyes* No, why?
Dong Hua: Oh. So how's the progress from the project?
Si Ming: Uhh... It's 11 PM, would it be okay for me to report to you tomorrow morning at work?
Dong Hua: So, did you guys work over-time today? If you did, you're entitled to 2x over-time pay today.
Si Ming: *eyes lit up* Oh? I thought it's 1.5x pay.
Dong Hua: Yes. I feel that you're working really hard recently, so I decided to raise it to 2x for this project. So how many hours of over-time did you put in today?
Si Ming: Wow, pay raise! Oh, but I didn't work over-time today, and I left work at 6 PM sharp.
Dong Hua: Oh, I see. So I'm guessing nobody else stayed back at work today too?
Si Ming: Yeah, our whole team went for dinner together after work.
Dong Hua: Oh. Keep me updated on the progress of this project. I'll fly back on Friday, but I would only come in to work on Monday.
Si Ming: I'll forward you the email for the progress tomorrow morning.
Dong Hua: Good.
Dong Hua hanged up the call with Si Ming.
Si Ming pondered, "Oh, wow. Lucky me, getting a pay raise. Hopefully, we won't get to the eat Sweet and Sour Fish too. Dong Hua must have noticed how hard I have been working. I'm going to buy a nice gift for Yu Xi once this project ends." Then he placed his phone back on the table and went back to sleep.
Dong Hua couldn't focus on his work at all. "What is she up to? They even went to dinner together." Then he decided to call her another time, and this time the line went through.
As Feng Jiu was a heavy sleeper and she was also exhausted, she didn't hear the buzzing phone at all. Dong Hua even called twice, but she slept through it.
"Where is she?" Dong Hua couldn't sleep all night, and he kept tossing and turning in back, thinking about Feng Jiu. He also got up to check his text messages to her and read it over and over again, making sure he didn't say anything wrong. Dong Hua never knew that he could miss someone so terribly.
----------------------------------------
Morning came. Feng Jiu's alarm rang, and she hit the snooze button, refusing to get up as usual. Suddenly she recalled that she accidentally fell asleep last night, and she forgot to reply back to Dong Hua. Feng Jiu immediately grabbed her phone and checked it.
"8 Missed calls from Dong Hua?! Did something happen to him? I better call him back now!" Feng Jiu was worried about him, so she immediately called him. Dong Hua picked up the phone the moment it rang, but he acted calm as he didn't want her to know that he was waiting for her all night.
Feng Jiu: Morning! Sorry, I fell asleep before I get a chance to reply back to your messages.
Dong Hua: Oh? I thought you're ignoring me on purpose.
Feng Jiu: No! Why would I do that?!
Dong Hua: I was just kidding.
Feng Jiu. Oh! Why did you call me eight times last night? Did something happen?
Dong Hua: Did I? Maybe I accidentally pressed on it.
Feng Jiu: Oh... I thought something bad happened to you. I'm sorry I fell asleep last night, and I didn't text you back.
Dong Hua: It's fine. I was busy with work anyway. And you're worried about me?
Feng Jiu: Of course, I am. I saw eight missed calls the moment I was awake, and I was worried about you.
Dong Hua: I'm fine. I am just feeling a little tired.
Feng Jiu: Tired? You didn't sleep well?
Dong Hua: Yeah, I barely slept a wink. Oh, but it's because of work and not because I was waiting for you.
Feng Jiu: I didn't even say that you're waiting for me. And didn't I tell you to rest more?!
Dong Hua: Yes, yes. I'll try to catch up on some sleep later on. I still have a big meeting to attend in a few hours.
Feng Jiu: Make sure you get some sleep. So when will you be back?
Dong Hua: Why? You already missed making coffee for me? You can take the plane and deliver it to me here if you want to.
Feng Jiu: Hmph! I'm not your maid, and I'm also busy at work!
Dong Hua: I'm just kidding, and I'll be back by Friday evening.
Feng Jiu: Oh... I guess I'll see you on Saturday afternoon then. Don't worry; I didn't forget about our plans. So what time will you be picking me up on Saturday?
Dong Hua: Anytime. Just let me know, and I'll pick you up. I'm free the whole day except at 4 PM, as I'll need to take a business conference call.
Feng Jiu: I think noon would be good. Just call me when you're reaching, and I'll head downstairs.
Dong Hua: *Yawns*
Feng Jiu: Get some sleep before your meeting! You sounded so tired. I need to get up for work now.
Dong Hua: Okay. I'll send you a picture of my lunch later on.
Feng Jiu: Make sure you send it to me! Okay, goodbye!
Dong Hua: Bye.
Feng Jiu then hanged up the call and went to prepare for work.
"Silly girl. I guess she still cares about me. It's so nice to hear her voice." Dong Hua smiled to himself, and then he started yawning non-stop. "I guess I could take a short nap before the meeting. I didn't sleep a wink last night." Then he laid on the bed and instantly passed out in exhaustion.
----------------------------------------
Feng Jiu arrived at work on time, and she greeted everyone good morning. Xiao Yan and Jie Lu then walked into the office together, smiling at each other. Jie Lu saw Feng Jiu looking at them, and she quickly excused herself, "I'll get you a cup of coffee, Xiao Yan." Then she ran away shyly towards the pantry.
Feng Jiu leaned over to Xiao Yan's table and asked curiously, "So... How does it feel to be in a relationship?" She smirked at Xiao Yan. Then he replied with a big smile on his face, "It's great! I'm so glad that I took your advice, Feng Jiu. You're indeed my good friend! I'll treat you to some drinks tomorrow night since it would be Friday. We are going to the same bar, 'Phoenix Bar'. It's the one that Meng Qi is working at."
"Oh! Count me in. I won't say no to free food and drinks! And I'm curious to see how Meng Qi is like. Maybe we can matchmake Meng Shao and Meng Qi?" She raised her eyebrows at Xiao Yan.
Xiao Yan gave her a high-five, "Sounds good. I'll get back to work now. I still have so much to do. We will talk soon!" Jie Lu also came back with 2 cups of coffee, and she placed one on Xiao Yan's table. Then they both smiled sweetly at each other.
Feng Jiu also smiled while looking at the 'lovebirds'. Then she suddenly thought of Dong Hua, "I still remember the time Dong Hua accidentally made two cups of tea." She smiled and then she went to the pantry to get herself a cup of coffee too.
"I'm going to send a picture of my coffee to Dong Hua, to tease him about not having good coffee. This will teach him a lesson for always teasing me!" Feng Jiu then snapped a picture of her cup of coffee and sent it to Dong Hua.
Feng Jiu: Miss this good coffee? Too bad, you can't drink it.
----------------------------------------
*Buzz* Dong Hua's phone vibrated.
He was still sleepy, so he slowly opened one eye to look at who messaged him. Upon noticing that it was from Feng Jiu, he immediately sat up in excitement. He smiled to himself, "Silly girl. I miss her more than the coffee." Then he quickly replied back to her message.
Dong Hua: Oh. You're tempting me with good coffee. Of course, I miss it.
Feng Jiu: Oh? How come you can reply so quickly? I thought you're busy at work.
Dong Hua: I'm a fast typer. So, did you eat breakfast yet?
Feng Jiu: *Sends a picture of her half-eaten sandwich* Of course, how can I go without food?
Dong Hua: That's because you're a glutton.
Feng Jiu: *Sends angry emoticon* Did you eat yet?
Dong Hua: Not yet. But I'll grab something to eat on the way to the meeting.
Feng Jiu: I need to get back to work now. I have so much to do. You should get back to work too, and not slack! Just because you're the boss, doesn't give you the right to slack too.
Dong Hua: I'll be really busy at work for today and tomorrow so I might not be able to text you as much.
Feng Jiu: Don't worry, I'm busy at work too. I'll see you on Saturday if we don't get a chance to talk.
Both of them then headed back to work. Dong Hua had to attend several important meetings for the next two days, and Feng Jiu also needed to submit her final draft for the project.
A day quickly went by as they were busy with the final phase of the project. Feng Jiu then headed to the nearest shopping mall to shop for Dong Hua's birthday present.
First, she went to a few designer stores, but those ties were clearly out of her budget. Then she continued walking around the mall to look for a more affordable tie.
She finally found a nice purple tie within her budget, and she thought to herself, "I don't know if Dong Hua would wear this since it's not branded. I guess it's the thoughts that count, right?" Then she went ahead and bought the tie. She also went to the gift shops to get a nice birthday card for Dong Hua.
"I hope Dong Hua will like this." Feng Jiu smiled while looking at the shopping bags.
----------------------------------------
Friday arrived, Dong Hua and Feng Jiu barely talked because both of them were really busy with work. Dong Hua was going to fly back this evening as well.
After work, their whole team went to the Phoenix Bar. When they arrived at the bar, Meng Qi immediately came over to say Hi to everyone and served their table.
"Oh, you brought two new friends." Meng Qi said to Meng Shao. He nodded his head shyly and pointed to Si Ming first, "His name is Si Ming." Then he pointed to Feng Jiu, "And her name is Feng Jiu." Then they waved to each other and then Meng Qi took down their orders.
Feng Jiu ordered a soft drink because she didn't want to drink. "Why are you not drinking today?" Xiao Yan asked curiously. "Oh, I'm afraid that I'll get drunk and have a hangover. I can't afford that because I have something important to attend tomorrow."
"Oh? What are you doing tomorrow?!" Xiao Yan raised his eyebrows at her. Feng Jiu didn't want anyone to know that she's going to Dong Hua's house because she knew that they would definitely misunderstand. Then she replied calmly, "Oh, just need to help my friend out with some errands. It's nothing important."
At this moment, Meng Qi brought their drinks over. She smiled sweetly at Meng Shao and said, "Here is your free drink like I promised. Let me know if you need anything else." Then she left and went back to work. But Meng Qi also kept stealing glances over to their table while she was working.
Xiao Yan changed his focus from Feng Jiu to Meng Shao. He winked at Meng Shao and said, "It seems like you got yourself a secret admirer."
Meng Shao immediately gave a shy look and replied, "Don't talk nonsense, Xiao Yan." Jie Lu then patted Meng Shao's shoulder, "It's pretty obvious. Maybe you can try to text her more and see how it goes."
Feng Jiu then thought of Dong Hua, "Hmm... He should be back home now, right?" She took out her phone to check if Dong Hua texted her. "No messages. I guess he's busy then." Then she put aside her phone and continued talking to her friends.
----------------------------------------
On the other side, Dong Hua was busy with work for the past two days. He rushed to the airport after his last meeting, and he didn't have any time to check up on Feng Jiu.
Dong Hua arrived back home and he also immediately continued with his work. He wanted to finish up all his work so that he would be free for the whole day tomorrow. Other than that one important business call conference, he managed to clear his entire work schedule just for her.
Finally, at 8 PM, he finished all his work. Then he took his phone out and checked for her messages. "Oh. No messages. I wonder what she's doing."
Dong Hua wanted to text Feng Jiu, but he had a better idea when he looked over to the bag of goodies that he brought back home for her. He thought to himself, "I didn't see her at all for the past week. Maybe I can bring this bag of snacks to her as an excuse to see her."
Then he got changed and left the house. He drove all the way to her apartment building before he texted her, "Hey, are you home? I was running errands nearby, and I have something for you. Come downstairs now."
After waiting for 10 minutes, there was still no response, so he called her phone.
----------------------------------------
Feng Jiu received Dong Hua's call. She quickly excused herself as she didn't want anyone to know that Dong Hua was calling her. She then stood outside the bar and answered his call.
Feng Jiu: Oh, hey. You're back home?
Dong Hua: Where are you? It sounds noisy in the background.
Feng Jiu: Oh. I'm at the bar with my friends. Are you still busy at work?
Dong Hua: No. Check your text.
Feng Jiu: *Checks text messages* Oh my gosh! I'm sorry, Dong Hua. You should head back home first and don't wait for me.
Dong Hua: I will wait here for you. I mean, I'm going to run errands anyway, so it's not like I'm waiting for you.
Feng Jiu: Alright, go settle your errands and don't wait for me. Head home first if it's too late. I'll see you tomorrow anyway.
Dong Hua: Okay. See you soon.
Then they hung up the phone, and Dong Hua continued to wait for her. He didn't want to wait until the next day to see her, so he was determined to wait for her.
Feng Jiu went back to the bar. Then she continued to sip on her soft drink and talking to her friends.
After a while, she started to feel a little tired, and she decided that she wanted to leave first. Si Ming offered to send her home, but she insisted for him to stay as he looked like he was still having a lot of fun. Everyone else also decided that they wanted to stay, so Feng Jiu took a cab home first.
After Feng Jiu got out from the cab at her apartment building, she noticed a familiar-looking person pacing up and down the lobby area. The person turned around, and Feng Jiu immediately recognized him.
"Dong Hua?! How long have you been waiting here for me?" Feng Jiu was shocked to see him because she thought he had already gone back home. She quickly looked at the time and realized it was already 10 PM.
"Oh. I just got here after running some errands." Dong Hua replied calmly. He lied because he waited for her for almost 2 hours.
Feng Jiu then noticed him holding on to a big plastic bag, and she asked curiously, "What's that? Is that for me? You mentioned that you have something for me."
Dong Hua immediately passed her the bag and replied, "Yes, it's for you. Look inside the bag."
Feng Jiu excitedly rampaged through the bag, and she exclaimed, "Snacks! Where did you get these?"
Dong Hua smiled gently at her and replied, "Well. I saw some local snacks during my business trip, and I bought too much. So I'm giving some to you." In reality, he specially took time out of his busy schedule to buy some local snacks for her.
Feng Jiu had a huge smile on her face, and she said, "Thank you! I love these snacks. Anyway, sorry for waiting and you should get going now. I'll see you tomorrow at noon."
Dong Hua then acted tired and said, "Oh. I feel a little sleepy, so it's not safe for me to drive now. Can I go up to your place to rest for a while?"
Feng Jiu widened her eyes with shock, and she thought to herself, "Is it a good idea to let Dong Hua come up to my place? But he mentioned that he's sleepy so it would be dangerous for him to drive back home now."
Dong Hua noticed that Feng Jiu was hesitating, so he added on, "Besides, I miss drinking your coffee. Maybe you can make me a cup of coffee, and I'll feel more awake to drive back home? I won't stay long. I'll just drink a cup of coffee and leave."
Feng Jiu pondered for a while before she finally agreed to it. "I guess there's no harm letting him drink a cup of coffee. He must be exhausted from working so much for the past week." Then she replied cheerfully, "Alright, come on up to my apartment. But it's a little messy so don't mind it! I'll make a good cup of coffee for you."
Feng Jiu entered the elevator, and Dong Hua stood behind her. He smiled and silently thought to himself, "Finally, I'll get to spend some time with her. I also wonder how her apartment looks like."
They arrived at her floor, and she opened the door. She stopped Dong Hua from entering, "Wait here, and give me 5 mins!" Then she shut the door on his face and immediately ran around her apartment to clear away some stuff. She threw all the clothes into the washing machine, and she quickly washed all the used cups.
Dong Hua waited patiently outside the apartment, "Silly girl. She must be trying to clean her apartment quickly before letting me in. Luckily, I have already informed the cleaning lady to come over to my place tomorrow morning. It would be sparkling clean by the time she arrives at my place."
After waiting for a while, Feng Jiu finally opened the door to let Dong Hua in. He took off his shoes and carefully placed it at the corner of the door before stepping into the apartment.
"Oh. Her apartment looks cozy. Wait. Why does this feel so familiar?" Dong Hua thought to himself.
"Go wait at the living room and watch some TV if you want. I'll go make you a cup of coffee now!" Feng Jiu pointed at the sofa and then she ran into the kitchen.
Dong Hua sat down on the sofa and switched on the TV. Suddenly, he was hit by a deja vu feeling, and he started to experience brief flashbacks again. It has been some time since he had those flashbacks. "It's coming back again. Wait, this sofa looks familiar. Who am I kissing? Wait. Why am I kissing her?"
All the memories of him kissing Feng Jiu came back to him instantly.
Right at this moment, Feng Jiu walked over to him with a cup of coffee. Dong Hua stared at her and then on her lips. Feng Jiu noticed him looking uneasy, and he was staring at her intensively, so she asked, "What's wrong? Are you too tired?"
Dong Hua looked away and mumbled under his breath "Jiu-er." Feng Jiu sat down beside Dong Hua and asked again, "Are you feeling okay?" But he ignored her question as he was trying to sort out his feelings and thoughts.
"Why do I remember kissing her? Is it because I subconsciously wished that it would happen, so I'm hallucinating? Should I ask her about it? But this is such an awkward and embarrassing question to ask." He silently thought to himself.
Feng Jiu noticed something was wrong with Dong Hua, so she shook his arm and asked concernedly, "Are you feeling sick because you didn't rest well for the past week?" Dong Hua then snapped out of his thoughts and replied, "Have I been here before?"
Feng Jiu was taken aback by his question, and she stuttered, "No.. No. This is your first time here." Feng Jiu didn't dare to tell Dong Hua the truth because she thinks that it would ruin their friendship.
She silently thought to herself, "It won't do us any good if he knows. Even if he remembered everything now, we wouldn't be able to go back to the past. It would be even more awkward to see each other. I know he doesn't have feelings for me that way, and I don't want him to feel obliged towards me just because of that."
Dong Hua then sipped on his coffee and thought to himself, "There's no reason for her to lie to me about this, right? I'm overthinking for sure. I need to stop having such dirty thoughts about her. I want to win her heart slowly, and prove to her that I'm serious about her, unlike those other suitors."
Dong Hua then smiled and said to Feng Jiu, "I think I'll add some sugar to the coffee this time." He stood up and walked straight into the kitchen to get the sugar. Feng Jiu then tried to stop him, "Wait. Do you even know where's the sugar?"
Dong Hua immediately found the sugar in the cupboard next to the fridge. "Wait. How did I even know the sugar was placed here?" Feng Jiu then walked into the kitchen and said, "Can you find it?" And then she saw Dong Hua holding on the container of sugar.
"How did he know where is the sugar? Did he remembered something?" She pondered. Dong Hua also thought to himself, "This is strange. Maybe I'll ask Si Ming about it, and he might know something."
Dong Hua smiled at Feng Jiu and replied, "Yeah. I found the sugar. Let's go back out to the living room." Feng Jiu then smiled back at him and thought to herself, "I guess not. It's probably just a coincidence, but I think I should talk to Si Ming about it."
After drinking the cup of coffee, Feng Jiu rushed him to go home. "It's late, and I want to sleep soon as we have a long day tomorrow!" Dong Hua then stood up, and he unwillingly wore his shoes, "Alright, I'll see you at noon. Good night."
Feng Jiu then waved goodbye to Dong Hua. "Drive safe, and go to bed when you're home!"
"I will." He smiled at her and entered the elevator.
After closing the door, she immediately called Si Ming. "I think Dong Hua is beginning to remember his past."
She then made Si Ming promised not to tell anyone about this. She also made Si Ming promise not to tell Dong Hua the truth if Dong Hua asked him about it.
Feng Jiu then thought to herself, "I can't let Dong Hua find out the truth now. Although I still have feelings for him, I know he would only feel indebted and guilt towards me. It would be way harder for me to move on if he knew the truth. Maybe it would even ruin our friendship, and I don't want that to happen. I'm sorry, Dong Hua. I will have to keep the truth from you."
"I need to find out the truth." - Dong Hua
