The Goblin's reaction towards the out loud cry of the first general could be summed up as anger and admiration.

He felt angry hearing the harbinger of his suffering coming out of the first general's mouth, and he felt admiration towards the first general who with his last breath, showed his loyalty till the end.

The Goblin wondered, will there ever come a time when he will be just as needed and admired by someone else like the Goblin king was?....
