บท 58: Flashback Chapter Four | Still the Damsel in Distress?

Lights dimmed, and music turned softer but the tension in the air just grew intense.

Irene, hesitantly looked up at her partner, unsettled by the words that were spoken in front of him. Searching for cringe in his eyes, she spent quite a while staring in them. Swaying with him, she staggered to her feet, and almost instantly, his hand slipped down, around her waist to pull her up.

"You are doing good," he spoke, his eyes crinkling as he smiled graciously at her.

Her hands were back on his shoulder and his, around her back. Failing to avert her gaze from him, she absent-mindedly moved along with deciphering his words, actions, and gestures.

Was he deliberately trying to get her away from 'her'?

What did he mean by she was doing good?

What the heck was this guy talking about and what exactly he was doing?

Irene had no clue. She absolutely had no clue.

"It's rude not to greet your friends, Irene."
