Chapter 1: Prologue - The Beginning

In a void, a single soul floats in the eternal darkness. This soul was once a person, who has recently died on his way to work. At the age of 23, he was fan of Dragon Ball. He loved the series as he grew up. He fell in love with the fighting and the story.
In the original DB anime, he enjoyed the adventures that Son Goku would take and meet the many people he would fight and befriend on his journey to get stronger. Now unbeknownst to this recently dead soul, his journey is just beginning.

-MC Point of View-
'W-w-what happened? Where am I?' I thought to myself. Wondering where I am. 'I don't remember anything on how I got here or who I am.' Then like a switch I remembered about how I died in a car crash being instantly crushed, so it was a painless death. I recalled my single mother and younger brother. How my mother by herself took care of me and my younger sibling.
'I died. I left mom and ...?' Now that I think about it, I cannot remember my little brother's name or mom's name. I can't place my family faces, and still don't remember my own name. Now that I look around, I can't see anything, just pure darkness.
I panic, not being able to see anything and realizing that I don't have any limbs. 'W-what the hell is this? Where are my arms and legs? I can't feel or see anything.' I can't seem to move and if I am, there's nothing to indicate that I'm making any progress. Also, I realized that since I don't have a mouth, I'm not able to speak.
As I calm myself down, I think to myself. 'Is this hell? This can't be heaven, though I wish it was.' I was a good person and did believe in God as that goes with being catholic. I tried to be honest and hard working. I was also nice to people, though I had my moments when I was a little mean and sarcastic. I wasn't perfect and I wasn't trying to be. I was just trying to be the best person that I can be. So, I see no reason why I shouldn't be in heaven.
As I was contemplating my situation, a bright light flashed and suddenly I was being pulled towards something. 'Aaahhh! Where the f**k am I going!?' As I was screaming internally, I was moving a very fast pace into a white vortex that seems to be sucking me in that direction.
After another flash of white light, I was suddenly in space heading toward a gigantic reddish pink and yellow planet. I was getting closer and closer to the planet, breaking through the atmosphere. In the distance I can see a white wall and red roof palace.
'That palace looks familiar and so does the landscape.' I can see humans with monkey tails flying around going about their day. Then a word hit me. 'Saiyans, that also means that this planet is Vegeta and that's the royal palace.' I thought to myself.
'This shouldn't be possible; this planet should be a work of fiction. It shouldn't exist.' My mind was in chaos. The world I thought I knew was a lie. I knew that there was possibility that other universes existed, but that was something about universes similar to my own. Not something like this.
'Guess those fanfictions and web novels were on to something after all.' Allowing humor in my thoughts in an effort to calm my frazzled mind. As I tried to calm myself again, I then wondered where I'm headed. I noticed that I seemed to be heading to a space port as I got closer to the ground.
I am unsure why I would be heading there. Suddenly I was shifting downwards at an angle, moving closer to the populace milling around the station. I seemed to be moving towards someone.
'Huh? I thought I would be going to a Saiyan nursery to reincarnate or something along those lines, but it seems that's not the case.' I noticed that I was going to crash towards a young male Saiyan that seems to be 7 to 10 years old, I wasn't completely sure, but he could have been older. I know Saiyans aged differently compared to humans.
While I was shortening the distance between us, I saw that the Saiyan child before me looked familiar. He had long spikey black hair that reaches the back of his knees. He stops walking and looks around the space port. I had a better view of the Saiyan child. He seems to be wearing a black and yellow Saiyan armor and boots with his tail wrapped around his waist. Of course, he also has a green scouter.
'Is that Raditz.' I thought to myself seeing a familiar character. I made contact with Raditz, and my soul was merging with his into one.

-3rd Person Point of View-
The merge caused Raditz to collapse on ground. It startled the surrounding Saiyans and forced them to check on him.
"So, what happened to him?" One Saiyan inquired. "You think he's dead?"
Another Saiyan checks for a pulse. "He's still breathing. Do you know who this runt's parents are Tabaga?" He asks his fellow Saiyan squad mate.
"Hmmm, I think he's Bardock's and that weak Saiyan woman Gine. I heard he's going to be a part of the young prince Vegeta's squad Escaro." Tabaga replies to Escaro's question.
"Bardock should be on a mission, and he will back in a week or two. Tabaga, I'll grab the runt and take him to his mother. Do inform Bardock of what had happened, and someone inform prince Vegeta that Raditz will be unavailable." Escaro tells Tabaga.
"Yeah, I'll make sure it gets done", Tabaga answered. Another Saiyan pipes up, saying they will inform the prince.
As Escaro flies to the meat processing factory, where the mother of Raditz is working at. Tabaga is getting the frequency number so he can contact Bardock.
Tabaga's scouter connects, and a male voice is heard. "Yeah, what is it?"
"Bardock", Tabaga questions to see if he's talking to the right person.
"You're speaking to him. What do you want?" Bardock asked.
"Your runt collapsed, and my squad mate is taking him to your mate to drop him off." Tabaga informed Bardock.
Bardock is silent for a second and then replies, "I'm already done with the mission. I'll be on my way." Then the transmission was turned off.

Bardock turns to Leek after he closes the connection to Tabaga to tell him to start the ship when both his and Leek's scouters start beeping letting them know they have message coming in.
["All Saiyans report to Planet Vegeta. Lord Frieza commands it. I repeat all Saiyans report back to Planet Vegeta."] They both turned off their scouters.
"Leek, let's take off to Planet Vegeta." Bardock told his pilot.
"Roger that Bardock", Leek responded.

Tabaga lands in front of the processing factory and the other species of aliens that the Saiyan's put to work scurried off when they saw him. 'Hmph, what weak cowards, but I suppose they have their uses.' Tabaga thought to himself. He searches for the Saiyan woman and found her. 'There she is.'
"Woman, your son collapsed earlier, and I came here to drop him off to you." Tabaga told the shocked Saiyan woman, who rushed to take Raditz off his hands.
When she has him in her arms, he seems to be unresponsive besides the occasional twitch and his chest was moving indicating that he was still breathing. The woman looks up to Tabaga and asks, "what happened to him and why isn't he in a healing pod?"
Tabaga answers with, "He collapsed as I said. He doesn't have any injuries as far as I can tell, so the healing pod should be unnecessary. Maybe some rest will do the runt good."

Gine looked down sadly at her baby boy as Tabaga left the factory to get some R&R after a tough mission with his squad mates.
'He was so excited to join the young prince's squad and now that this happened, they will probably not let him join now. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise.' Gine thought to herself.
She was at first was proud that her little Raditz can prove himself so he can make his father proud. When the news reached his ears that he was to join the prince in his squad, he was ecstatic to prove his worth. Then Gine began to feel sad that she wouldn't see her little one as much because he would be so busy doing missions.
She would have her little Kakarot to keep her company while he is in his gestation pod, but now that Raditz is unconscious, she could take care of him a little longer. Gine leaves the meat factory while cradling Raditz in her arms to go home so she can put Raditz in his room.
