As I stepped out of Captain Gerard's office, I was still thinking about what he said. I hadn't expected him to be so honest with me, especially not about his feelings for Clara.

I had gone there thinking I was going to play matchmaker, but now I was stuck in the middle of a situation that had gotten a lot more complicated.

I had already planned to go find Clara and tell her about Gerard's confession, but as I walked down the hall, I found myself wondering if I was making the right choice.

Should I be getting involved in this mess? I was still trying to process everything, but I knew I couldn't just leave things as they were.

Before heading to Clara's room, I stopped and took a deep breath. There was one thing I had learned since I got to this palace: people loved to gossip. Especially women.
