As they spoke, Grace felt a burning gaze behind her. She turned and saw Rufus standing a few feet away.
His presence immediately put her in a foul mood. Why can't one be allowed to have a moment of peace for once?
Rufus walked over, a sneer on his face. "Grace, I want to see you now," he ordered like the owner of the world.
Grace chose to ignore him, turning back to Roy.
"Wendy's mother is fine and recuperating fast," she said in response to the question Roy had asked her before.
"That's nice. It's good to know her body accepted the liver so well. I've always heard of some people rejecting…"
Rufus glared at the two people who continued chatting on as if they had neither seen nor heard him. Were they really treating him as air?
This realization fueled his anger the more.
