บท 264: We Do Not Belong Here!

"I acknowledge that it is unlikely Lady Ava will remember any of this later…" Kael began. "But you should not get into the habit of making promises you cannot keep. I believe she has suffered more than enough disappointments in her life already."

Zeldris blinked at him in shock. What was he saying now? Did he actually care about what happened to Ava after he left her behind? 

He didn't understand. Light Warriors were known for getting one mission done and immediately moving onto the next one. Or…was she more than a duty to him too? That was worrisome. 

"Don't lecture me about breaking promises when you're going to go home after this is all over," he said in a low voice. 

"Of course I am going home! We do not belong here!" Kael said, sounding incensed. 

No, they didn't. Zeldris could acknowledge that much. The human world was about as different from the demon realm as it could possibly get. And that was exactly what he liked about it.
