The man abruptly opened his eyes, startling Tara Summer into silence, her words caught in her throat. The man's eyes, deep and chillingly cold, scanned her like a razor-sharp blade.

Tara felt wave after wave of cold rush over her, freezing her from her head to her toes. She wanted to step back, but her legs refused to move.

"Quite daring of you," said Liam Yancey, maintaining the same posture, his sword-like brows slightly furrowed, his magnetic voice didn't betray his emotions, his expression slightly cold.
