"Stop that now! Are you sick in the head or something?! Do I even know you?! Why are you slamming me with your stick for nothing?"
Lin Fan dug out of that pit in the ground. When he caught sight of this overbearing monkey wanting to slam out at him with another round of the stick, he yelled out.
Who in the world had he offended?! He was just going on his own way while traveling through the void!
At this moment, a single fella suddenly came into the mind of Lin Fan. Wasn't this the Great Sage Equal to Heaven that he had seen that time?
Checking out his surroundings, Lin Fan garnered that he must have arrived in the territory of the Monkey race. There were many living beings of the Monkey race that were glaring at Lin Fan curiously from the sides.
There wasn't much of a difference between these living beings of the Monkey race and the Human race. It was just that they were covered with a layer of yellow hair around their body.
In case you guys don’t know it yet, Journey to the West is one of the pivotal novels in Chinese Literature and Sun Wukong, Monkey King, Great Sage Equal to Heaven or how you know him as is just one of the favourite characters of everyone. Reading this chapter made me realise that you guys may not know about the story behind ‘Monkey Steals Peaches’ right? While it’s used as a joke about grabbing balls these days, it was actually a part of Sun Wukong’s journey.
So, back in the past when he was wreaking havoc all over the place, the Jade Emperor decided to pacify him by giving him a worthless title in the Heavens to watch over the Heavenly Horses. There was once when he heard about the Queen Mother (Wife of the Jade Emperor) holding a banquet for all the immortals. The peaches of her peach garden, the Peaches of Immortality, offers and maintains the immortality that the immortals have. But Sun Wukong wasn’t invited because he was a mere nobody. So what did he do? Steal them of course. There’s many variations to the story but he basically created so much of a ruckus that he was chased across the entire Heavens. In the process, he created his Fiery Golden Eyes that could see through all evils and got his invincible body as well. Eventually, he was too much of a problem that the Buddha had to intervene before imprisoning him under the Five Fingered Mountain for 500 years till the arrival of Tripitaka where he begins his…Journey to the West! Cheers!
