เรื่องย่อ
Wang Tong couldn’t wait to live his college life - girls, parties, and the dorm life - everything he had ever dreamed of. But, instead of a letter of admission to the college, he had received a ticket to the planet Norton and a contract with the Confederation as a space settler. Soon after his arrival, the Zerg overran the planet and obliterated its defenses in a matter of moments. What awaited Tong on Norton was more than just an unbearable environment - its gravity alone was five-times stronger than earth - there were also swarms of bugs, constant hunger, thirst, and desolation...
Venture into the Tempest of The Battlefield, unlock the secrets within the mysterious space crystals, and meet the legendary Blade Warriors and the potent sword combat tactic: "Ultimate Tactics of the Blade: 256 Genome Nuclear Force".
An honest and humble low-tier robot and a ghost with a mouth full of nonsense both teamed up with Wang Tong in a fight for survival against all odds.

The Tempest Trilogy consists of three compelling and interconnected epic adventures of three protagonists. Each of the three stories is set in a different location in space: the Tempest of the Steel Mecha is in the Earth-Moon System, the Tempest of the Battlefield is in the Solar System, and the Tempest of the Stellar War is in the Galaxy. In each of the books, you will find the ambition, innocence, and passion of the young protagonist and the sacrifice he had to endure along in his journey. Not only is the book full of heroic deeds of a single person, you the reader, like the protagonist, will also discover the value of teamwork and friendship at the end.
I have constructed a fantasy world where even the seemingly insignificant character will have one or two moments to shine, where love, friendship, and family are interwoven with each other to form a complicated yet fascinating tapestry of war. Within this world, our protagonist embarks on an enthralling journey to become a hero and the champion of the world.
I hope every reader will enjoy this unique science fiction world that I have created. Every bit of enjoyment I can bring to you is the best encouragement and reward for me.
I was enthralled when I first received the contract with Qidian International to work on the title “Tempest of the Battlefield”. Over the course of the few months that followed, Qidian International had proven to be more than just a professional team in the IP industry; they also went above and beyond to help me further my skills in order to provide the readers a more accurate translation and a more enjoyable experience while reading the novel. To that end, I want to say thank you to the team at the Qidian International and to my editor.
When I was in high school, aside from girls, the other two most talked about topics were science fictions and Wuxia. Being captivated by two drastically different worlds, we often pondered questions such as, “What would happen if a master of martial arts traveled through space and time into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon? And what would happen if a Qi cultivator got enlisted by the Terran Federation as a space marine to fight in an interstellar war against the Zerg-like creatures in Starcraft?”
Almost one and half decades later, we have Lucasfilm to answer the first question — sort of — in their blockbuster hit “Star Wars — Rogue One”, featuring Donnie Yen as the blind Chirrut Îmwe. And today, through the imaginative lenses of the author, Qidian International brought us the answer to the second question, and more! Not only you will be engrossed in the protagonist’s epic journey to power, but you will also be treated to a riveting world of martial arts and hard-core science fiction, laced with mythical elements of ancient Chinese cultivation, and, all of that was backdropped with power struggles of major factions in an interstellar war.
As translators, we were mindful of this unique aspect of the novel, and a lot of extra care has been given to preserve the flavors from both genres. To that end, the translation process was, albeit difficult, extremely rewarding.
Finally, we hope that you will enjoy the end product and join us in the adventure in the world of the Tempest!
First and foremost, I’d like to say thank you to the author for his brilliant ideas and his fascinating storyline, and of course, two thumbs up to our team of translators and editors for the amazing efforts of making this happen. I’m truly honored for being able to play a part in this project.
As I was going through the original chapters while working on the translations, immediately, I was drawn to the spectacular universe and lively characters in the story, which also drove me to present the same excitement in English to our fellow readers.
Rest assured, I won’t be spoiling anything here. However, be prepared for a thrilling galactical journey, I’m sure you’ll know what I meant as you read on.
Thank you for supporting Tempest of the Battlefield and have a pleasant read!

เขียนรีวิวAt first glance, it seems like an original novel, written by an English-speaking person. It has the same styles a lot of English sci-fi novels have and some more. But then, you see the character introductions and you're like, "Oh wait, this is a Chinese novels!" That's how I felt at least. Stuff is happening kinda fast currently within the story but it's still just barely keeping at an alright pace for these kinds of novels. It's pretty decent so far but this is only based on the first few chapters so I might change my opinion later on. So...I guess we just have to wait and see as the plot develops. 😀
Dear Fellow S-Club Members, With almost 300 chapters into the story, I want to give a big “THANK YOU” to all those who had supported the translation of this great novel! I work a full time job during the day and during the night, it was the mandatory “family time”—don’t ask, it was a decree from the “Higher Power”. It meant that I could only work on translation in the morning, usually from 3:30am to 6:00am, before I leave for work. As you could imagine, clawing my way out of the warm bed everyday at 3am required a great deal of courage and determination. I am not going to lie: it was HARD! However, your support could keep me going. One way to support me is to vote more often. Nothing can make me happier and more motivated than seeing the rank of the novel going up. Another way to support is to comment as often as you could. I really enjoyed reading your comments and I will reply as much as I can. My goal for this novel is to reach rank 40+ before the release of Chapter 300. It is at rank 55 right now so only 5 more ranks to go! So please initiate your Soul Energy now and VOTE ! ~
To be honest I feel like this belongs to the sci-fi genre right next to galactic dark net... I don't know how I feel about this novel right now (would change the review later if I could) I like the characters world background is good but story development is kinda wonky because suddenly he lost his ticket then blah blah blah and I feel like it doesn't explain it clearly and goes too fast but that's just my opinion I feel like the translation quality is excellent though.
Really good, im happy.many new novels arrived. Uh please check THE AMBER SWORD, retranslate or whatsoever so it will come here. Because its current TL inconsistent, he said hiatus 1week then became 1month without notice. Also suddenly he greatly reduce the quantity chapters became 6/month and maybe less because he is unhappy about 1 person critics that affect his mood. Wtf. Then his decision affects all of us reader, he said blame the person who made critics. Oh my...
Okay - so how do I say this nicely? This story sucks. Don't take me wrong - I mean, it's a good story with okay characters, but MAAAN, there's a LOT of inconsistencies and plot holes. I mean really - a ton of stuff where the author just changes tune on a whim. Just to give you a few examples; Early on in the story, the MC has a crush on the principal, and then suddenly the author mentions that the MC will take the principal on a date, but without the dialogue ever having taken place. Yes, this is just a benign example, but it gets worse later on, for example, in the latter end of the story, the author does away with the cultivation scheme that the reader is used to and suddenly introduces "levels". In my opinion, the author is a classic example of not having a clear structure of their world, history, and the characters in it. You will often find contradictory statements in chapter to chapter - and this is just one of many problems with the story. To be nice, the author does have nice character development and relationships. The MC doesn't just fall for the main love interest straight away but falls the friend, and through loss and hardships, realizes his feelings for the main girl - really nice, which is something that many other Chinese novels fail in. But this doesn't make up for what should be the concrete fundamentals of every story - CONSISTENCY! This story will definitely offer you a fresh take on a MC which isn't completely ignorant of his feeling. No face slapping or arrogant young masters at every turn with okay story progression. If you get hung up on details such as plot details and the author contradicting himself, then you should stay FAR away. Overall, I read up to chapter 500+ before skimming the rest of the chapters due to getting fed up with these points. The story end nice, however, as much as this story may portray itself as a single love interest, in the last 50 chapters, the MC suddenly gets himself a harem - also one of the things which will throw off a lot of its ******** readers. Final statement; it really feels like a story written by 2 or 3 different authors, with too many different cultivation methods, contradictory statements and views, vague/confusing races (e.g. Ivantians - which are apparently people who live on the Moon, and Kaedians (which I still don't who are or where they came from)). So yea, although, I'm generally forgiving in nature, this story just felt like a downright mess. It entertained me the first 100 chapters, but after that, I slowly got more and more fed up with it.
The story was great. But the author doesn't give a damn and just ended everything in one chapter. No conclusion. Nothing about the main invading zerg. His godfather aftermath and his loyal follower charcoal are still unknown. His milf teacher status is unknown. The Templars are unknown. How does his pet blue repopulate is unknown. where do the immortals go? Did they succeed in getting rid of the parasites? Where does the transcendence go? If they are gods then where is Li Feng? And that hidden gate at templar of prophecies is just crap which everything didn't come true. The fight is exciting and the struggle feels legit. But this half baked ending with mc happily ever after with his harem with no conclusion and no answers is just disappointing.
1. Characters are sloppy. Main character in particular can't seem to control himself and the author's portrayal of him is shaky as **** as his character changes from chapter to chapter, going from unsteady in one chapter to professional assassin in another with no foreshadowing. Similarly, plot line forces MC to make MANY MANY STUPID decisions for him to end with "I need to learn how to do xxxx better next time." Guess what happens when next time comes. It horribly idiotic and it never stops even after 200 chapters. Other characters are more consistent, but that has more to do with they being 1 dimensional rather than author's abilities. 2. word selection by author is awkward and the way they address each other can get on your nerves. 3. Story development is also non-existent. MC has little to no goals other than to graduate from academy and presumably slack off somewhere. His character however does not match as he can suddenly get hot blooded, suddenly fiery, and then regret once the fight is over because he showed off too much. Note that this does not change and he continues to do stupid things to show off repeatedly to no benefit whatsoever.
Frankly, this is one of my favorite webnovels. The story building are quite interesting. The main storyline is about the battle between human bings and Zergs. If you are a fan of StarCraft, you will love to read this gem.
I started reading this because it wasnt premium now 120 chapters in i have to pay gg well played. 😍🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑

While I am a fan of the story and the author, the editing team seriously dropped the ball on this one. Consistently misspelling Mag-lev as meg-lev, misused words and blatant wrong words show that the editing team generally skimmed through with a spell-checker and did not check the grammar or word context. After that, they did not even read through their own work before posting their mess. The worst offense was in chapter 79, where they were retarded enough to not only screw up the same word three times on one page, they also ****ed up the spelling of the main character's name. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE. I'm done with reading this ****, might come back to it if they ever fix it. I don't like having to stop reading every other page on average to make a corrective notation. I realize that this is a completed book and is not currently being maintained. I wish to state that it is a terrible idea to leave it this way, when it could be made so much better with a little time and a good quality editor.
I decided to take a look at this after having read some of Skeleton Wizard's other works (Tempest of the Stellar War and Battle Frenzy). If you've read any of these other works, it's the same parallel set up with the main character's journey to becoming a legend, the loyal non human helper sidekick, an anonymous alternative identity, working toward making that ideal romance work, great friendships, and a splash of humor. Despite the similar themes, it's a worthy addition to the Tempest trilogy and a good read. Bear through the first few chapters as the world building and the terminology dump is a bit of a turn off but it quickly picks up. Also be aware that unlike Skeleton Wizard's other works, the Starcraft references are not subtle in this one. It's to the point they're actually playing a version of it in the school competitions in between killing Zerg haha. I do have to be critical of two things though. The editing is terrible. I don't mean to be rude, but it really is. Every chapter is riddled with grammatical errors and typos. Clearly better then MTL but it still makes reading unpleasant at times. There's even one chapter early on with editing notes left embedded in the text. They're still there despite being pointed out by readers in the comments and it being half a year later. The second thing would be the stability of the updates. As some other reviews have noted, the pace has dropped considerably and is erratic. I think if you hover over the release rate it's currently averaging 4 chapters a week vs. the scheduled 10 as of the time of this review. Granted, real life stuff happens, but it is something to take note of. I would definitely recommend reading this if you've read any of Skeleton Wizard's other works and can deal with the negatives I've mentioned.
Seems futuristic storyline at first few chapters. No after few chapters you will face school and vr story without anything interesting. You will face inconsistent characters and storyline with typical chinese novel powerup and win them all situations.
Is the translator ok? The frequency has dropped way below the weekly rate over the past three weeks. Can Qidian or the translator give us an update on this?
stop reading after 400 something (the chapter is called Age of Aggression), it goes completely downhill. otherwise it is pretty decent. ..
I’m very disappointed. This wasn’t premium in the past. I wanted to reread it but when I went back, I found that I have to pay for chapters I’ve already read. If they were going to make it premium they shouldn’t have done it to the chapters that have already been released.
This novel is pretty good. But making 400 chapters premium in one go? No thanks it’s not that good and it isn’t updated very regularly. Dropping this now.
I love the story development. The author has good communication skills and the story is good. I find myself checking for Updates regularly. Which is an issue because update is not regular and very few chapters are released weekly.
Would camp noobs and kill bugs again. 10/10 On a more serious note, this is quite the pleasure to read, as expected from everyone's favorite skeletal warlock. too lazy to write a review, on mobile, might do one later. Read this. K
