90% Lotm Rogue-like across worlds. / Chapter 44: 44

บท 44: 44

Out of anger, I made a little noise in the empty space. I could have figured out that immediately completing the mission would force me out of the world, but what were the chances? In any case, I've lost good opportunities. Calming down a bit, I looked at the interface again.

Congratulations on your first story. You can immediately proceed to the next world or redistribute the meta points.

Meta points: 2

1. Paths

1.1. Additional path (+: Cost 1 ) {Current paths: Fool} Hint: (There is no price increase)

1.2. Entry Level paths (+: Cost 1) {Entry Level 9} Hint: (The price increase is arithmetic)

1.3. Sephirs (+: Cost 5) Hint: (There is no price increase, it is beneficial with high consistency)

2. Start:

2.1. Age: (Equal to the main character) (+: Cost 1 ) Hint: (The improvement allows you to make small changes)

2.2. Start time: (1 year) (+: Cost 1 ) Hint: (The improvement allows you to make small changes)

2.3. Location: (Safe, close to the main characters.) (+: Cost 1 ) Hint: (The improvement allows you to make small changes)

2.4. Origin: (Common) (+: Cost 1 ) Hint: (The improvement allows you to make small changes)

3. Local bonuses:

3.1. Additional Free Ritual Pass (+: Cost 5) Hint: (There is no price increase)

3.2. Permanent local development (+: Cost 10) Hint: (There is no price increase)

3.3. Additional free Temporary Path (+: Cost 3) Hint: (There is no price increase)

The description was half-understandable. I was afraid to waste my points in order to understand the development functions in more detail. Therefore, after some thought, I touched the additional path tab.:

An additional path (The cost of an upgrade costs 1 meta point, the next upgrade costs 1 meta point), Choose a path:

1. Error

2. The door

3. The Dreamer

4. The Tyrant

5. The Hanged Man

...

So, I had to choose a new path.

The fool was the only path, the nuances of which I knew before the zero sequence, the others I only knew the abilities. Everything else remained a mystery. I wondered: which way do I really need? The past world clearly showed the lack of direct firepower and physical development. Therefore, it was logical to choose a path that would compensate for these weaknesses.

The Red Priest seemed like a powerful option. His fighting abilities and physical development were impressive, but before becoming a demigod, his strength mainly focused on fire. After that, he relied on the army, which could go well with the Puppeteer's abilities. However, I wanted to find something that would allow me to be independent.

The Twilight Giant was the next candidate. His firepower was weaker than that of the Red Priest, but his physical strength and defensive abilities were one step higher. It was a reliable and balanced way.

Another option is a Prisoner. His physical characteristics in the early sequences were unsurpassed. In the seventh sequence, he became a werewolf, in the sixth, a dead man, and in the fifth, a ghost. These abilities practically reduced the possible physical damage to zero.

It was especially interesting that the fifth sequence perfectly synergized with the Puppeteer: entering the bodies limited the opponents physically, and then they turned into my puppets.

But there was also a drawback — curses. This path imposed heavy restrictions during full moons, and it could seriously interfere.

After going through a few more options, I wondered: what if I didn't close my weaknesses, but strengthened my strengths?

Even though I mainly relied on puppets, the main feature of the Fool's path was its versatility. Which way can benefit from this?

An emperor who distorts the rules? Or the Justiciar who creates them?

It was possible to choose a Door with its spatial manipulations starting from the fifth sequence. Up to this point, she looked like a Fool, but in the future she could become extremely useful.

However, perhaps I should have chosen a path with a clear specialization, and used the Fool as an auxiliary core.

An interesting option would be the Error path, the main ability of which is to "Steal". Although she only becomes combat-ready from the sixth sequence, she is still capable of having good synergy with the Fool. I don't have to be combat-ready.

After a bit of hesitation, I decided to stop thinking and chose a Mistake.

Do you want to spend 1 meta point to get the Error path? (Yes || No)

I was glad that the interface was asking for confirmation, and confidently pressed "Yes".

The next step was to improve the initial sequence.:

Do you want to spend 1 meta point to improve the initial level of the paths? (Sequence: 9 Seer → 8 Clown, 9 Marauder → 8 Crook) (Yes || No)

I immediately declined. The main problem of digestion remained time. To develop before the events started, I needed to get as much time as possible. I scrolled through the interface and came across a new option.

Do you want to spend 1 meta point to improve your start time? (1 year → 10 years (adjusted value)) (Yes || No)

Ten years is a long time. Depending on the world, this could give me a huge advantage.

I didn't think twice for a long time and clicked "Yes".

After the meta-glasses ran out, I mentally chose to move to a new world.

Random generation of worlds. Worlds are generated, select a new world:

1. Reverend Gu

2. Naruto

3. OnePunchMan

I couldn't help but frown as I scrolled through the options in my head.

"Reverend Gu" is a world where weakness is not forgiven, and every step requires absolute caution. One wrong choice and you're consumed by the world itself. Gu, deadly intrigues, wars, and absolute ruthlessness... It's not the best platform for growth if you make even the slightest mistake.

"One Punch Man"... A world where heroes and monsters are just expendable against the backdrop of a single creature that erases cities with one blow. If you think about it, this option is the worst of all. Senseless destruction reigns in it, and any attempt to reach the top can turn into a meeting with something that leaves no chance. And the level of power there is off the charts so much that even an "advantage" may not help in the future of ten years.

The last option left was Naruto. A world I knew enough about. His structure, powers, techniques — all this was in my memory in great detail. There are no fewer risks, of course, but there are also much more opportunities. Clans, forbidden techniques, combat schools — there is a place to turn around to use your strength and skills.

Having made the choice, I mentally clicked "Yes". The white world began to disappear and acquire full-fledged figures.
