Hearing her name, Kamigawa Saku was momentarily puzzled.
The name didn't match what the system notification had displayed.
Maybe it was an alias? A name to keep her real identity hidden?
Regardless of her reasons, if she introduced herself as Nyamu, he'd respect that.
It'd be downright creepy to call her by her real name out of nowhere.
After a brief pause, Kamigawa nodded and introduced himself, "Yes, I'm the Instagrammer here to film today. Kamigawa Saku, pleased to meet you. You must be the YouTuber the staff mentioned?"
"Yep, that's me!"
Nyamu replied cheerfully, subtly studying him.
From his looks alone, he didn't seem like an Instagram influencer—he looked more like a celebrity.
His face was, frankly, way too attractive.
And was he really that young? He seemed more like a high school student.
"By the way, Miss Yuutenji, were you filming the promo video just now?"
Recalling the scene when he walked in, Kamigawa asked out of curiosity.
"That's right." Nyamu smiled. "But no need to be so formal; just call me Nyamu. I'm used to it."
"Alright, then feel free to call me Kamigawa, or Saku."
He returned her smile with one of his own.
"Then I'll go with Saku."
Nyamu opted for the friendlier choice, inwardly growing curious.
Being invited here as a collaborator meant his following must be considerable.
And with a face like his, he'd definitely be memorable.
Even if she hadn't met him before, she thought she'd at least recognize him.
But no matter how she wracked her brain, she couldn't place him.
Odd, to say the least.
Regardless, getting friendly couldn't hurt.
"Sorry again for interrupting your filming," Kamigawa said, returning to the earlier incident.
"No worries! It wasn't anything serious; I can just redo it."
Nyamu was all smiles, looking easygoing and approachable.
Choosing a seat, Kamigawa casually remarked, "I never expected to meet you here. I was actually just watching your videos on the way over."
"For real? Are you a fan?"
Nyamu moved to sit beside him, her eyes widening in surprise.
Her audience was almost entirely young women; male fans, if she had any, were practically non-existent.
How many guys really watched makeup tutorials?
Probably just being polite, she thought.
Well, she'd just say she was his "fan" too.
"Not quite. I only subscribed about an hour ago, so calling myself a fan would be a stretch."
Kamigawa took out his phone and showed her his subscription list on YouTube.
"Huh? Wow, I'm honored to have a fan like you!"
Leaning over to check, she saw that he really was subscribed. Nyamu blinked in surprise, then smiled happily.
So he wasn't just being polite. How unexpected.
Now, how to respond?
"You make quality videos, so subscribing felt like a no-brainer."
To him, trading compliments was no big deal.
After a bit more mutual flattery, Nyamu, looking a little shy, asked, "By the way, Saku, could I get your Instagram handle? I'd like to follow you too."
"Of course."
Kamigawa opened Instagram and showed her his profile.
"So you're that influencer! I already follow you."
Nyamu's eyes widened in recognition.
To prove it, she pulled out her phone and displayed her following list.
"What a coincidence."
Seeing that she really did follow him, Kamigawa was genuinely surprised.
Didn't that mean they were fated to be friends?
"It really is."
Nyamu's regard for him shifted to a higher level.
Her reasons for following his account had been simple.
On one hand, his food reviews and trendy restaurant recommendations matched her tastes perfectly; she could even use his suggested spots as shooting locations when filming on the go.
On the other hand, she was studying his account to see how he'd managed to build such a large following with written reviews alone.
For someone with almost 600,000 followers in such a short time, his skills were no joke.
"I can't believe you're this handsome."
Nyamu found herself observing him closely.
She'd assumed he'd chosen text-based reviews because he wasn't very photogenic.
But clearly, she'd been wrong.
"Don't say that, you'll make me blush." Kamigawa feigned modesty, though he didn't forget to return the compliment. "Especially coming from a beauty like you."
"I'm just being honest."
Nyamu kept her eyes on him, planning her next move.
Her shoot today was straightforward: film a "I was invited to XX company and bumped into the idol group sumimi" type of video.
The plan was to show herself arriving at the company, introduce the brand and its products, and then "coincidentally" capture sumimi on camera and exchange a few words with them.
But now that she'd met him, adding a cameo from this handsome Instagram influencer would only make it better.
It would make a perfect "dream collaboration" for her viewers and would definitely boost views.
After all, he was a heartthrob.
Her audience of young women would absolutely love it.
But there was one snag: they didn't know each other well, and he seemed like the type to avoid the spotlight. Asking him to be on camera might not go over well.
If he enjoyed being in front of the camera, he probably wouldn't rely on text reviews.
Kamigawa joked, "Then I'll accept it without complaint."
"By the way, Saku, do you avoid showing your face on camera? From what I've seen, your reviews rarely feature you, just the products."
Even though she'd guessed his answer, Nyamu asked him directly.
"Yes. Mostly, I worry about being recognized in public."
He confirmed it, already sensing why she was asking.
"I see…"
That would make things tricky.
