Hearing Kamigawa's invitation, the girls finally snapped out of their amazement at his place.

"Anything's fine," Nijika Ijichi said casually, not picky in the slightest.

"Same here," echoed the others, one by one.

"Oh, and let me know if you want any snacks—I pretty much have all kinds at home," Kamigawa added as he headed to the kitchen to prepare drinks.

"Soba noodles!" Raana immediately raised her hand, making her request without hesitation.

"Soba noodles aren't exactly a snack, but I think I still have some."

Despite his playful sigh, Kamigawa went to prepare her request.

Sitting on the couch, Chihaya Anon couldn't help but continue scanning the room, her thoughts growing even more reflective.

Wasn't Kamigawa just a little too perfect?

Handsome—he was basically the unanimously voted best-looking guy in their year.

Intelligent—he'd scored first in their entire school on the entrance exam.

Wealthy—he lived in this luxury apartment.

Popular—nearly 600,000 followers on Instagram.

Free-spirited—his job seemed to consist of eating, playing, and posting.

Gentle—she'd seen that quality firsthand many times.

There wasn't a single flaw she could find.

It was no wonder he was so admired.

Thinking it over, Anon realized that she and Kamigawa would actually make a pretty good match.

After all, she had most of those traits, too.

They'd be perfect together…

Just as her thoughts wandered, she looked across the couch and caught sight of Nagasaki Soyo sitting opposite her.

"What's up?"

Noticing Anon's curious stare, Soyo tilted her head.

"Oh, nothing," Anon muttered, quickly averting her gaze.

Actually, Soyo was even better than her in some ways.

Or rather, everyone here seemed to have strengths beyond hers.

Even Raana, with her playful charm, and Gotoh Hitori, with her similar quiet disposition, both outshone her in guitar skills.

So maybe being "compatible" didn't mean they were actually suited for each other.

Anon internally withdrew her previous thoughts.

Kamigawa was simply too popular—it was his fault.

Lost in her reflections, she suddenly looked up to see Kamigawa returning with a large tray filled with glasses and assorted drinks.

"Take whatever you like. Tea and coffee will be ready soon, and so will the soba."

Setting the tray on the table, Kamigawa explained each drink as he laid them out.

"This feels more like a restaurant than a study session," Kita Ikuyo said with wide eyes.

"Perfect timing—I've been wanting to mix a few drinks to try new flavors," Yamada Ryo said, reaching for the orange juice and cola.

"Don't waste them!" Nijika Ijichi shot her a glare, then turned to Kamigawa. "Maybe skip the tea and coffee—there's already so much here. We won't be able to drink it all."

"Actually, coffee is essential; this is a study session, after all. What if someone gets sleepy? It's better to have it on standby," Kamigawa replied. "As for the tea, that's for Nagasaki. She prefers it."

"Sorry, I didn't realize," Nijika quickly apologized to Soyo.

"It's fine; I didn't mention it," Soyo reassured her, delighted by Kamigawa's thoughtfulness in anticipating her tastes.

"…"

Shiina Taki's expression remained unreadable, but her subtle reaction didn't escape Kamigawa.

"Shiina, if there's something specific you'd like, don't hesitate to say so."

"Coffee, please."

Shiina hadn't expected his sharp observation; he'd picked up on her tiny shift in mood instantly.

"Coming right up."

With a nod, Kamigawa headed back to the kitchen.

Nijika apologized again, "Sorry, I didn't realize you preferred coffee."

"It's fine," Shiina replied nonchalantly.

The only reason she hadn't said anything was that she didn't want to be a bother.

After all, Kamigawa had already prepared so much; it felt unnecessary to ask for more.

Yamada leaned over, laughing as she teased, "Nijika, you're totally oblivious to the atmosphere sometimes."

"Of all people, I don't want to hear that from you," Nijika sighed, feeling the irony.

She hadn't expected her offhand comment to nail two people's preferences so precisely—nor to be roasted by Yamada, of all people.

"Gotoh, what would you like to drink?" Soyo began pouring drinks for everyone as Kamigawa returned to the kitchen, embracing her unofficial role as hostess.

"C-Coke, please."

Surprised by Soyo's question, Hitori glanced around nervously before giving her answer.

"Alright. And you, Kita?"

"Thanks! I'll have orange juice."

"Alright."

Soyo continued down the line. "How about Yamada and Nijika?"

"…"

Watching Soyo settle in as the group's impromptu hostess, Anon found herself bewildered.

Was she a little too comfortable?

It almost felt like this was her house, not Kamigawa's.

---

With the coffee, tea, and soba ready, Kamigawa began to carry over trays loaded with snacks.

It was rare to have so many guests at his place, so this was a perfect chance to clear out some of his snack stash.

"We're here for a study session, not a tea party…"

Staring at the mountain of snacks piling up on the carpet, Shiina Taki finally couldn't hold back a comment.

Hearing that, Takamatsu Tomori quietly put down the dolphin-shaped cookies she'd been eyeing.

"No, it's fine! Tomori, eat whatever you like," Shiina quickly corrected herself.

"If we run low, just tell me—I'll bring out more," Kamigawa added, satisfied with the spread of snacks.

"Mhm."

Raana, still munching on her soba, responded with her mouth full.

"Where should I sit, though?"

Kamigawa finally noticed the issue.

No matter where he sat, he'd end up surrounded by girls.

He was suddenly torn—no spot felt quite right.

In the end, he decided to stop worrying. For someone who was destined to stay single, it shouldn't matter where he sat, right?

"Anywhere's fine—the place is big enough for all of us," Nijika offered kindly.

"Huh?"

Kamigawa blinked.

The system had just displayed a new set of choices—nine options, each one showing one of their names.
