บท 2: Chapter 2: The Hinterlands of Pokémon Civilization

At Ryoma's father's call, Ryoma followed the crowd back to Yukimura Village.

Fortunately, the Pokémon Hunters arrived in time, and their two-story house only had some minor cracks in the walls, likely due to the residual effects of Sandshrew's moves.

Not long after Ryoma and his father returned, Ryoma's mother, who had been out buying groceries and thus avoided the disaster, also hurried back. Seeing that the whole family was safe, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

However, since the houses in the village had all suffered some degree of damage, the villagers did not return to their homes. Instead, they gathered at the entrance of the village, waiting for the Alliance to provide specific relocation measures.

Based on past experience, the Alliance would likely first find them a temporary shelter and then make further relocation plans based on the situation on the ground.

That evening, all the villagers of Yukimura Village set up makeshift tents at the village entrance and spent the long night simply.

During that night, Ryoma also gained a deeper understanding of the current world through the internet. To his surprise, there were only about 500 types of Pokémon discovered in this world, far fewer than the 800 he had in mind!

This was due to some rare Pokémon whose traces had not yet been found, as well as some Pokémon with special evolutionary paths that were not mentioned in the records.

Moreover, aspects like traits, items, and moves were all still in the exploration stage. The exploration of the Pokémon civilization in another world was also just in its early stages. Clearly, humanity still had a long way to go in understanding Pokémon.

After all, the Pokémon invasion had only occurred 23 years ago, including several years of war, so human research on Pokémon was still far from sufficient.

Furthermore, much of humanity's understanding of Pokémon came from a discovered Pokémon research institute, and many of the Pokémon were known only through documentation and had not yet been encountered in reality!

On the other hand, the Alliance might have intentionally concealed some research. The absence of information online did not necessarily mean that the Alliance or those influential families were unaware of it.

It was evident that some knowledge must be strategic. Even if those powerful forces discovered some secrets, they would likely keep the information confidential, treating it as the foundation of their family's strength!

Knowledge remained in the hands of a limited few!

Regardless, as a Pokémon enthusiast aware of everything, he had a significant advantage in this world. If he were to share all he knew with the Alliance, it could potentially advance Pokémon civilization by hundreds of years.

Of course, that was not possible; he had no intention of revealing his identity as a transmigrant.

Keep a low profile and develop steadily!

After a sleepless night, Ryoma energetically stepped out from the shelter the next day. At the village entrance, the villagers had gathered, all waiting for the final decisions on their relocation.

Not long after, the staff members from the Alliance arrived on a bus. After some cordial greetings, they finally discussed the relocation options that the villagers were most interested in.

The Alliance provided two options for relocation:

One option was to leave Yukimura Village and move to a relocation house near Aloha City. After all, the appearance of a Spatial Rift above Yukimura Village indicated that this area had begun to overlap with another world, and more similar incidents might occur in the future.

The other option was surprisingly to choose a Sandshrew as compensation. This was naturally to give the villagers a means of self-defense, allowing them to organize a self-defense force in case of similar incidents!

It could be said that the Alliance was very sincere; whether it was relocating or receiving a Pokémon, both were very tempting conditions.

It is important to know that housing prices near Aloha City are not cheap. Even a suburban relocation house costs over 500,000 yen. In comparison, the price for a typical Pokémon generally hovers around 100,000 yen. However, these Pokémon are quite common; if they were rare Pokémon, the price would undoubtedly skyrocket!

"Both options are pretty good! How do you all want to choose? Let's discuss!"

"What choosing? My house has been flattened by those damn mice! I can only go for the relocation house—those damn mice!"

"That's a bit of a shame. This is a great opportunity to become a Trainer. If you follow the formal route, it would be quite troublesome. Plus, the Pokémon we get will be farm-bred, while wild ones are definitely better!"

"Yeah, yeah! I'm planning to get my son a wild Sandshrew this time. Look at this Sandshrew; it will surely be a great help on construction sites!"

After receiving the relocation options, the villagers immediately began discussing animatedly.

Ryoma quietly observed from the side, feeling somewhat speechless at the villager who planned to take the Sandshrew to work on construction sites. But seriously, the various abilities that Pokémon possess could definitely handle many tasks that humans cannot complete.

Just like Sandshrew, its name suggests it's perfect for tunneling and similar tasks. If you had a Sandshrew, construction sites would surely be fighting to have it!

"Little Ryoma, do you like this kind of Sandshrew? Why don't we choose this Pokémon too? I just went home and checked; our house only has some wall cracks. Everything else is fine, and we can still live here!" Ryoma's father walked over and said.

Choosing Sandshrew as the starting Pokémon?

His father's words immediately plunged Ryoma into thought. To be honest, Sandshrew and its evolved form, Sandslash, are not particularly powerful Pokémon. But so what? This is not a game. Theoretically, every Pokémon has the potential to become a powerful one.

In this regard, Giovanni's Beedrill is definitely a prime example. His Beedrill is not an ordinary one, and this indirectly confirms that every Pokémon has the potential to reach its peak!

"Don't worry, Dad. I'll definitely become a powerful Trainer!" With that thought in mind, Ryoma felt he should give it a try.

Seeing this, Ryoma's father smiled with satisfaction and said, "Good boy, you have ambition!"

After discussing, they went to register with the Alliance staff. Once all the villagers made their decisions, they would be able to choose their preferred Sandshrew.

The waiting was always the hardest part. To pass the time and prepare for his future as a Trainer, Ryoma planned to combine his understanding of Sandshrew and try to create a specialized training plan.

This way, when he got his Sandshrew, he could immediately start the special training because success favors the prepared!
