บท 6: Chapter 6: Inner Core Skill Breakthrough, Qi Rushing to the Disease

The blood-red little snake that Wang Sheng saw could be confirmed as the Qi-Blood Power he had condensed after becoming a Martial Artist.

But how could this Qi-Blood Power have startled his own "spirit"?

He finally felt the consequences of not having a master.

Without a master, when encountering such a situation, one wouldn't know what to do or understand what happened.

Wang Sheng could only grope his way forward. After much pondering and meditation, he finally came up with a reliable theory.

"Could it be because I don't know how to control the Qi-Blood?"

Theoretically speaking, to reach the level of a Martial Artist, one would need a corresponding Cultivation Technique, which naturally includes a method to control the Qi-Blood, avoiding such problems.

However, Wang Sheng had taken a shortcut, using the progress bar's assistance to practice the "Eight Pieces of Brocade" and reached the level of a Martial Artist; naturally, he couldn't control the Qi-Blood.

The Inner Core Skill's Hundred Days Foundation Building Method seemed to possess the ability of internal viewing, which is "Inner Vision."

But this process is complicated, and in his past life, Wang Sheng only wanted to focus on health preservation, not cultivation, so he did not delve deeply into it.

Yet, in his recent practice, he seemed to have naturally reached the realm of Inner Vision and thus saw his own Qi-Blood Power.

"However, it might not necessarily have been the rebellion of the Qi-Blood Power just now; it's also possible that my spirit was too weak and was startled by the Qi-Blood Power!"

In Chinese legends, spirits find it difficult to approach those with strong Qi-Blood and might even be directly annihilated.

Wang Sheng felt that he most likely achieved Inner Vision by utilizing his own spiritual power, and hence was startled by the Qi-Blood Power. To resolve such a situation, he had to find a way to control his Qi-Blood.

"It looks like I'll need to spend more time grinding again!"

In his past life, Wang Sheng only practiced Inner Core Skill for a short period of time. He didn't persist as he did with the "Eight Pieces of Brocade" for over ten years, so his level was very low.

"Inner Core Skill (Hundred Days Foundation Building): 3 (68%)"

The current level of his Inner Core Skill was only level 3, far from a Breakthrough.

Without a Breakthrough, it would just be an unremarkable health preservation method, only by breaking through could it unleash amazing potential.

But now, Wang Sheng was no longer in such a hurry.

He had already become a bona fide Martial Artist; even if he currently lacked martial techniques and couldn't control his Qi-Blood, he was still a bona fide Martial Artist.

He already had the initial power and wasn't at the mercy of others.

The Sun Family most likely wouldn't resort to using a Martial Artist to force him into a brothel for the same reason as before; the cost and the benefit did not match.

The chrysanthemums needed for delivery were almost ready, so there wasn't too much to worry about.

Thus, Wang Sheng would slowly continue with the progress of his Inner Core Skill. Of course, if he could control his Qi-Blood before the Sun Family's people came to collect the delivery, that would be even better.

"There's still half a jar of Tiger Bone Ointment left; I can continue to enhance my Qi-Blood."

After Foundation Establishment in Inner Core Skill, one needs to extract significant medicines from the human body to enhance one's realm, so the enhancement of Qi-Blood cannot be stopped.

"There's still half a month left, let's see what level I can achieve!"

Over the following half month, he entirely devoted himself to practicing and improving the "Inner Core Skill" and "Eight Pieces of Brocade."

With 24 hours in a day, he used eight hours for sleep—health preservers never skip sleep, even for cultivation.

The remaining 16 hours included one to two hours for settling meals. With the Tiger Bone Ointment, most of his body's needs could be met, but a health preserver cannot ignore nutritional balance, even if other aspects can be overlooked, diet could not.

Two more hours went into planting chrysanthemums, fulfilling the supply demands.

And he still had a full 12 hours left.

He had ample time.

Because there wasn't much of the Tiger Bone Ointment left, he practiced Inner Core Skill for eight hours, and Eight Pieces of Brocade for four hours.

Wang Sheng was a highly disciplined person.

As for whether it got boring, not only did it not, every time he felt his Qi-Blood strengthen and the progress bar advance, he felt fully motivated.

One can clearly see progress, yielding remarkable gains; such achievements are addictive and never tiresome.

If left to do assembly line work and then earn a monthly salary of 3000, anyone would grow weary unless pushed by life's necessities.

Within such days, more than ten days passed, and Wang Sheng made significant advancements in his three martial arts techniques.

"Eight Section Brocade: Breakthrough +2 (6%)

Inner Core Skill (Hundred Days Foundation Building Method): 9 (86%)

Chrysanthemum Planting: Breakthrough +1 (96%)"

Among them, Inner Core Skill improved the most; in just over ten days, it advanced directly from level 3 to level 9 but, aside from the first time, it never displayed that initial introspection again.

Now it simply represented a basic method of health preservation.

Of course, what did level 9 signify?

Without a progress bar, Wang Sheng had spent over a decade and still hadn't reached 99.99% of level 9.

His body was thus very healthy, significantly stronger than his peers.

So what about level 9 of Inner Core Skill?

It certainly had significant benefits. The Inner Core Skill provided health benefits that incorporated many traditional Chinese medical theories to tune one's body to an optimal state.

This was Inner Core Skill's state without breaking through the ultimate limit to achieve miraculous effects.

Even though he had become a Martial Artist, he felt his body was noticeably stronger and more comfortable.

However, he still lacked the method to control his Qi-Blood.

"With 14% progress left, let's see if today brings success in achieving a breakthrough. Tomorrow is the delivery date!"

The chrysanthemums had been ready several days earlier.

Originally he was supposed to deliver them personally, but given his special circumstances, the Sun Family would specifically send someone to collect them, though it was unlikely to be a Martial Artist.

If he could get through tomorrow's ordeal, and the Sun Family didn't cause any troubles afterward, the crisis would essentially be resolved.

Hence, he needed to appear particularly strong tomorrow.

As for whether the Sun Family would think he'd gained a great fortune and come to seize it, ridiculous—he could barely protect his own integrity, let alone worry about such things.

Wang Sheng dedicated all his time today, apart from eating and sleeping, to practicing Inner Core Skill, all to push it to its breakthrough limit.

Hard work paid off for the dedicated, and in the hour before sleep, he finally broke through the limits of Inner Core Skill.

"Inner Core Skill (Hundred Days Foundation Building Method): Breakthrough +1 (1%)"

At the moment of the breakthrough, an abnormal movement occurred within Wang Sheng's Qi-Blood.

Since the condensation of Qi Blood Power, over the past ten or so days, this power had significantly strengthened.

In the instant of the Inner Core Skill breakthrough, this stream of Qi Blood Power slowly started moving.

Wang Sheng distinctly felt this power.

He could control the movement, and the Qi Blood Power would also slowly move on its own.

"Have I finally achieved it? If not, I was about to go to sleep!"

Now that he could control Qi Blood Power, Wang Sheng was a true Martial Artist, capable of using Qi Blood Power to enhance himself.

He walked outside, and by the light of the moon, found a grinding stone. Then, harnessing his Qi Blood Power, he tried to lift the grindstone with one arm again.

This time, it was much easier. With the help of Qi Blood Power, his strength had greatly increased.

With the self-moving Qi Blood Power, Wang Sheng knew this was a normal condition for Inner Core Skill and Hundred Days Foundation Building Method.

He was entering the next process of the Hundred Days Foundation Building Method.

Qi Rushing to the Disease!

บท 7: Chapter 7 The Shocked Li Wenguang (Please follow the new book!! Vote for recommendations and monthly tickets!)

Qi Rushing to the Disease involves, within the Inner Core Skill, simply gathering enough "Qi." After this Qi is accumulated, it naturally flows through the body's meridians.

This flow is based on the body's own rhythm,

"Qi" will naturally circulate through the meridians, a process that does not require one to control the "Qi;" controlling it might actually be detrimental and could lead to deviations in the flow of "Qi".

As it flows, "Qi" will continuously seek out the body's "disease foci."

This is the first minor realm of Qi Rushing to the Disease, "Finding Disease."

During its circulatory process, "Qi" will encounter "obstructions," which may be old hidden injuries, current ailments, or even potential future illnesses—one's latent issues.

These "diseases" are categorized by difficulty of resolution into minor and major disease foci.

Generally, minor disease foci are cleared during the first circulation of "Qi," starting the process of repairing the leaky vessel.

Whereas if "Qi" cannot clear a major disease focus, it will autonomously alter its course and mark the spot, repeating this until all disease foci within the body are identified.

The first stage of Qi Rushing to the Disease, Finding Disease, is then considered complete.

As this process concludes, with the repair of several minor disease foci, both "Qi" and physical fitness will be further enhanced, resulting in an increase in strength.

Wang Sheng's current autonomous circulation of Qi Blood Power is essentially the process of "Finding Disease."

"How long will it take?"

He had no master, no experiences to draw upon.

Therefore, he wasn't quite sure how long this process would actually take.

Then, he saw a progress bar appear.

"Qi Rushing to the Disease: Finding Disease (1.5%)"

Wang Sheng was momentarily stunned when he saw it.

"Does everything I do come with a progress bar?"

Upon reflection, it wasn't incomprehensible.

After all, chrysanthemum planting came with levels and progress bars.

Although the circulation process was a natural adherence to the body's rules performed by the Qi Blood Power, that power was his, so it could be seen as a result of his own efforts, right?

After observing for a while, Wang Sheng noticed that the circulation of Qi Blood Power within his body had indeed sped up a bit, but not excessively, and the progress bar's increase was not particularly fast.

The key was that, just like chrysanthemum planting, Qi Rushing to the Disease only showed a progress bar, with no levels, indicating that although the pace had quickened, it was indeed fixed.

The greatest benefit was actually that he couldn't fail in the process of Qi Rushing to the Disease.

When planting chrysanthemums, he had found out that no matter what he did, the chrysanthemum seeds would surely grow.

However, a benefit like this was more than enough.

Or rather, without the guidance of predecessors, this ability was more important than anything else.

What Wang Sheng needed to do now was to let it develop autonomously.

"It's just that I don't know whether the advancement in level of Inner Core Skill will accelerate the speed of this process..."

Wang Sheng kept this in mind.

Planning to test this after dealing with the chrysanthemums tomorrow.

As for tonight, I'm sorry, but it's time for my biological clock, and let me say it again, those who cultivate health never stay up late.

The next morning, at the break of dawn, Wang Sheng was practicing his Eight Brocades outside his house, as usual.

Ever since the Eight Brocades broke through for the second time, its training effect had improved tremendously, and his Qi Blood Power had increased rapidly.

Consequently, his consumption rate had also escalated, meaning that the Tiger Bone Ointment would only last a few more days at the current rate of use, a concern for him recently as he truly did not wish to rely on eating meat for replenishment.

He planned to ask Li Wenguang how the Tiger Bone Ointment was made, and if possible, he wanted to replicate it.

But that would have to wait until after today.

Lately, in the village, almost no one dared to approach him for fear of offending the Sun Family.

And the Li Wenguang household was no exception.

Wang Sheng understood, though.

His family was just an ordinary one—if helping him meant offending the Sun Family, the consequences would be more than they could bear.

Before, they had gone out of their way to assist him, even sending him a Cultivation Technique and Tiger Bone Ointment, which was already a great kindness.

After practicing a set of Eight Pieces of Brocade exercises, Wang Sheng began moving the sun-dried chrysanthemums outside. To prevent any accidents, he had prepared a little extra, about 600 jin.

As a Martial Artist, he found it easy to transport the chrysanthemums.

However, just as he had moved half of them, a familiar figure appeared at the door.

"Uncle Li?"

Wang Sheng really hadn't expected Li Wenguang to come at this time.

He was aware of his own foundation, but did Li Wenguang understand?

The day he spoke to Li Wenguang, he mentioned two methods: one was to become a Martial Artist, and the other was to strengthen himself and then make a run for it.

Li Wenguang probably thought more about the latter possibility.

To get stronger, to run away.

"Yun Sheng, take these."

Li Wenguang didn't say much, simply stuffing a small cloth bag into Wang Sheng's hands.

The bag felt lumpy, as if there were stones inside. Wang Sheng knew it contained silver.

"This silver was gathered by me and some people from our village. Take it and leave. You've used the Tiger Bone Ointment, haven't you? Your Brother Li said it's chaotic out there. If you are capable, finding your way wouldn't be much of an issue. Be careful, and you shouldn't have too many problems…"

Li Wenguang rambled on, completely oblivious to the pile of chrysanthemums at the door.

Wang Sheng could only smile bitterly. The people in the village were truly simple, even gathering money for him to escape. It made sense, in a way—if they weren't that simple, his original self couldn't have relied on the villagers to sustain him till now.

In this regard, the old Scholar played an indispensable role. Reading enlightens people, and Li Wenguang's generation was greatly influenced by the old Scholar.

However, he might have to disappoint their good intentions.

"Uncle Li, take a look at what's over there?"

Wang Sheng forcefully turned Li Wenguang's body to face the chrysanthemums he just moved out. With his current strength as a Martial Artist, Li Wenguang had no chance to resist.

"What is this?"

Finally, Li Wenguang saw what was at the door.

"Where did you find so many chrysanthemums?"

"I had some stored at home, and then I managed to gather some more."

This excuse might be believed by others, but Li Wenguang knew too much to buy it. However, he just nodded and didn't say anything else.

Li Wenguang's son, Li Yongfeng, was an escorter, worldly and knowledgeable, and he knew that the world harbored many incredible things.

He also knew some questions need not be asked.

Any method that could solve a problem was a good one.

"If you've gathered enough, that's good. But still, be careful—the Sun Family is a powerful clan with Martial Artists among them. If they truly insist, there's nothing you can do."

Not only did Wang Sheng understand this, but so did Li Wenguang.

They both knew that powerful families might not play by the rules.

Gathering the necessary chrysanthemums was only the first step, and it was one of life or death.

"Don't worry, Uncle Li, watch this!"

Then, in front of Li Wenguang, Wang Sheng casually juggled a millstone in his hand.

Li Wenguang knew the weight of a stone mill, and he also knew that Wang Sheng had no divine power by birth.

But Wang Sheng just lifted the millstone right in front of him—what did this represent?

Li Wenguang felt it was all very surreal.

"Really made it?"
