With Reiki's mastery of space-time jutsu, he swiftly swapped places with An Lushanzan. The initially confident expression on An Lushanzan's face shifted as he found himself face-to-face with Namikaze Minato and the other Konoha ninjas.
"This is the power you wanted us to witness?" Minato asked, eyes glinting with interest as he studied An Lushanzan. If An Lushanzan truly managed to harness the power of the dragon vein, the consequences would be dire. But now, with Reiki at the dragon vein's location, the odds were against him. Even though Reiki wasn't yet powerful enough to overpower An Lushanzan completely, his unique space-time techniques made approaching him difficult for most.
"Space-time ninjutsu!?" An Lushanzan muttered, eyes narrowing as he took a cautious step back. Before him stood Minato, whose reputation with space-time jutsu was legendary, and Reiki, whose techniques were even more unpredictable. With Aburame Shibi and Akimichi Choza's secret techniques and Naruto's formidable attacks, he realized that if he didn't seize control of the dragon vein soon, he might not survive this encounter. An Lushanzan knew well the power of Namikaze Minato, a name still revered twenty years into the future.
"Why is it always Konoha?" An Lushanzan's expression twisted into one of rage as his chakra surged uncontrollably. The resonance with the dragon vein began to grow, and tendrils of chakra seeped from it, intertwining with his own.
"That's Reiki over there, right?" An Lushanzan's eyes darted over the Konoha ninjas. "Uchiha Obito, the cold-hearted Shura. Hatake Kakashi, the Silver Blade of Konoha, son of the White Fang. Nohara Rin, daughter of the spiritual chain..."
His eyes locked on Minato. "Can you protect them all from me?" The garments on An Lushanzan started to disintegrate, revealing a gaunt frame with a glowing energy crystal embedded in his chest. The crystal pulsed with the power of the dragon vein, activating its chaotic energy.
"What are you talking about?" Minato's brow furrowed. Though he had suspicions, he didn't voice them. In this battle, spanning time and space, he didn't want to know too much about the future. His only goal was to defeat An Lushanzan and seal the dragon vein.
"Curious?" An Lushanzan smirked. "Don't worry, once I defeat you all, I'll recount your futures one by one. Let's begin!"
With a crazed laugh, An Lushanzan spread his arms wide as energy beams shot from his body, linking with every puppet in the area. Deep beneath the ground, a shadow stirred, and a massive puppet emerged, standing under An Lushanzan like a mechanical colossus.
"Naruto Uzumaki, listen," Minato ordered. "Lead Kakashi and the others out of the puppet encirclement. That's your mission."
Naruto's eyes widened as he watched his father form a Rasengan and charge forward. "Kakashi-sensei, is that..."
Kakashi interrupted, "Naruto, come with us. Obito, Rin, move!"
Sara stepped forward. "I won't leave!"
But before she could protest further, Kakashi knocked her unconscious with a swift blow. "We can't afford distractions," he said firmly. "Naruto, you're from the future, and by the looks of it, I'll be your teacher one day. Remember this: on missions, don't let emotions waste precious time. Obito, let's go!"
Obito nodded. "Naruto, snap out of it! We need to move!"
Obito formed hand seals and unleashed a powerful Fire Release: Great Flame Sing. The blaze scattered the advancing puppets, and his flaming short sword severed their chakra threads. Yet, as soon as one line was cut, another reattached. A prolonged fight was not an option—they needed to escape swiftly.
"Got it!" Naruto summoned multiple shadow clones, each one brandishing a Rasengan as they cleared a path forward.
With Sara in Kakashi's arms, the three of them broke through the puppet horde, assisted by Choza's giant boulders sealing the entrance behind them.
Meanwhile, countless insects from Shibi infiltrated the puppets, gnawing at their chakra threads and disrupting their movements. Choza, using his Body Enlargement Jutsu, charged through the enemy forces, crushing everything in his path.
Minato's eyes were locked on An Lushanzan. He needed to eliminate him, but the sheer number of puppets slowed his advance.
Reiki, seated in front of the dragon vein, remained detached from the fight, studying the swirling energy. To access the realm of immortals, the dragon vein was essential. However, unlocking its power required activation. There were two keys: the Magatama he had exchanged with Sara and the energy crystal embedded in An Lushanzan's chest.

Reiki initially planned to wait until Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Naruto defeated An Lushanzan [Centipede] before stepping in. However, it seemed he couldn't afford to wait any longer. If Minato and Naruto used their combined "Father and Son Rasengan" as the final blow, there would be nothing left of An Lushanzan—not even the crucial jade embedded in his chest.
"ROOM!" Reiki activated his surgical jutsu, focusing on An Lushanzan [Centipede]. The jade in An Lushanzan's chest was essential, and Reiki could not let it be destroyed.
Suddenly, a wave of weakness hit Reiki, making his chest tighten and forcing him to cough up blood. Without hesitation, he downed the remaining potions he had, suppressing the backlash within his body.
"Hmm?" An Lushanzan's eyes narrowed as he sensed the interference. "Did you just try to attack me? I should mention that with the energy of the dragon vein, the space-time here is unstable. Your jutsu, especially space-time techniques, are rendered ineffective and may even backfire on you. Remember this: do not interfere in my battle. Once I turn Namikaze Minato into a puppet, I'll deal with you."
An Lushanzan commanded another wave of puppets to charge at Minato. Hearing his words, Minato was cautious not to use the Flying Thunder God technique recklessly. Instead, he relied on his arsenal of Rasengan, Wind Release, Earth Release, and sealing jutsu to keep up the fight.
Reiki, recovering from his initial weakness with the help of the potions, smirked. "Think that'll stop me? Let's see how you handle this." He activated his surgical jutsu once more, drawing on his unique skills and medical knowledge.
"ROOM!" Reiki summoned a box of potions, which materialized in front of Minato.
Minato glanced at it briefly, recognizing its potential. Without hesitation, he drank the potion. Immediately, the energy within him surged, enhancing his strength. The Rasengan he formed now glowed with even more intensity, its power unmistakably greater.
"Sealing Technique: Hundred Chains!" Minato called out, unleashing a powerful sealing jutsu. Chains shot out, piercing through dozens of puppets and locking them in place. An Lushanzan [Centipede] could no longer command them.
"This potion… it's incredible," Minato said, a look of relief crossing his face. With this aid, the threat of An Lushanzan was significantly diminished.
An Lushanzan [Centipede], realizing his puppets were permanently sealed, began to panic. His eyes flicked to Reiki, who was now studying the dragon vein. The stories he'd heard from 20 years in the future painted Reiki as more formidable than the Yellow Flash of Konoha. This was why An Lushanzan targeted Minato first—facing Reiki head-on was a risk he'd hoped to avoid. But now, he had no choice. He had to eliminate Minato to get to Reiki.
The giant puppet beneath him began unleashing powerful strikes at Minato, who, empowered by the potion, countered with precise movements and lethal Rasengan attacks. The battle between them intensified, with Akimichi Choza and Aburame Shibi unable to contribute at that level.
"Shibi, our task is to hold the line and trust Minato!" Choza said confidently, seeing the concern in Shibi's eyes. He downed a potion given by Reiki, feeling the side effects of his earlier techniques wash away. Empowered, Choza transformed into his butterfly mode and surged into the puppet horde, smashing them apart. Though the puppets could repair themselves, the process took precious time.
"Yes, we need to play our part." Shibi summoned his iron-eating insects. Although fewer in number than his necrotic insects, these silver bugs targeted metal specifically. The puppets' key components were made from special metals, perfect food for the iron-eating insects. While slow, their efforts weakened the puppets, making them easier to destroy.
Suddenly, Naruto leaped down from above, defying the order to stay outside. His eyes were determined.
"Naruto, why didn't you follow the mission plan?" Minato called out, a mix of confusion and frustration in his voice. Naruto's presence, given Minato's understanding of his identity, was disconcerting.
"I am following my mission!" Naruto declared firmly. "Because this task was assigned by you!" He pulled out a potion and handed it to Minato while holding another for himself.
"You…" Minato began, caught off guard but understanding Naruto's determination.
Reiki observed with a smirk. This was about to turn the tide.
