บท 58: **Chapter 58: Apology!**

Reiki's mind raced as he clicked on the golden mark on his panel. "System, what does this golden mark mean?" he asked, curiosity piqued.

"Insufficient permissions to query," the system responded promptly.

Disappointment washed over Reiki. He had suspected this was beyond his current understanding, but he still felt a flicker of frustration.

"Brother Reiki, what do you think?" Uchiha Fugaku's voice pulled him from his reverie.

"Wha—?!" Reiki blinked at him, confusion evident on his face. He had completely zoned out during Fugaku's earlier speech.

"Sorry, I was in a trance just now," he admitted sheepishly. "Can you say it again?"

Fugaku repeated himself, explaining the issues facing the Uchiha clan and their struggles with the village. Reiki felt a mix of surprise and unease; discussing such sensitive topics in a public place felt risky.

"Don't be surprised. Only the two of us can hear what I say now," Fugaku reassured him. "I've cast an illusion over the area."

"Oh, is that so?" Reiki replied, relief washing over him. But he quickly grew serious. "Lord Fugaku, you should know I'm just a medical ninja. If someone in your family is sick, I can help. But as for these clan matters…"

He hesitated, grappling with the danger of getting involved. After all, the Uchiha were a formidable group, and engaging with their internal conflicts seemed daunting.

"Brother Reiki, since you participated in the interrogation, I believe you're more than just an ordinary medical ninja," Fugaku countered, an earnest expression on his face.

Reiki chuckled internally. How could he ever convince Fugaku that he was merely a medical ninja? In reality, he was far more capable than many elite shinobi, especially in combat. Even elite fighters like Might Guy and Kakashi couldn't measure up to his raw talent.

"Uh… actually, when problems arise in your Uchiha clan, the best solution often becomes the hardest," Reiki said slowly, trying to navigate the conversation. "If it happened to me, I'd handle it right away. For you, it's different…"

His words sparked Fugaku's interest. The elder had merely come to gauge Reiki's thoughts, but now it seemed they might delve deeper into a possible solution.

"Both of you," Teuchi, the ramen chef, interjected, placing his face between the two.

With a knowing glance, Reiki held back a smile as Fugaku opted to eat his noodles instead of continuing the serious discussion.

After a few minutes of eating in silence, Reiki finally spoke. "Lord Fugaku, as I said, the problem can be simple. It just seems difficult for you. You should apologize!"

Fugaku raised an eyebrow, clearly caught off guard. "Apologize?" he echoed, mulling it over. "That's a straightforward solution… but for us Uchiha, it's a challenge."

Reiki shrugged. "If the village decides there's no issue, just apologize publicly. You might find it alleviates some tension." He waved his hand dismissively, feeling he had said all he needed to. "What you choose to do next is your business."

Fugaku remained deep in thought, while Reiki felt it was time to step away from the escalating tension.

After he had finished his meal, Fugaku expressed his gratitude and departed quickly, leaving Reiki alone with his thoughts.

Meanwhile, back at the Uchiha compound, tension filled the air.

"What? Apologize?" Uchiha Zen erupted, anger etched on his face. "Absolutely not! We acted under the Hokage's orders. You want us to apologize?"

The members of the Security Department murmured in agreement. "Yes, patriarch! Our job is to protect Konoha. We have the right to detain anyone who poses a threat!"

"I made a mistake in my arrest; I don't owe anyone an apology!" Uchiha Natsu insisted, his voice rising with indignation.

The atmosphere grew heated, with many clan members voicing their disdain for the very notion of apologizing, viewing it as a sign of weakness.

"Fugaku, that's enough," Uchiha Tani said, the clan leader's voice low but authoritative. "I don't believe Konoha will impose harsh punishment on us for something like this."

Uchiha Kagami, an elder with disheveled hair, spoke up quietly from the corner. "I think Fugaku is right. Some things could have been handled simply. We don't need to complicate them further."

A silence fell over the room as everyone processed his words. The tension in the air thickened as disagreements simmered.

Tani's expression hardened. "He's just a kid. What can he possibly know?"

As the debate raged on, Uchiha Kagami grew weary of the futile discussions. He stood up, dismissing the meeting. "You can do whatever you want," he stated flatly, leaving the room.

Frustration coursed through him. The Uchiha clan had a nature that was hard to change. No matter the situation, their arrogance and stubbornness blinded them to alternative perspectives.

Reflecting on their ongoing struggles, Uchiha Kagami felt a sense of despair for the clan's future. Their refusal to adapt was the very reason the Uchiha had fallen from grace, and it appeared that they were still unwilling to acknowledge their mistakes.
