*Eason*
I cut her off before she could continue. “I’m tired,” I said abruptly, standing. The last thing I wanted was to discuss Lena, especially with Elise. “I’ll practice later today.”
Without waiting for a response, I turned and walked away.
*Lena*
After my disastrous meeting with Eason, I couldn’t bear the thought of returning to the office. I cursed, burning with rage, as I made my way to my car, asking myself how I’d ever managed to fall in love with such a pompous, self-absorbed jerk. I stomped the soles of my shoes angrily against the pavement as I walked to the parking lot and drove home.
Once I entered my house, I slammed the door behind me, not caring if the neighbors heard. I kicked off my shoes, leaving them haphazardly in the entryway, and stomped to my room. Stupid, stupid Eason and his stupid handsome face.
