Two days had passed since that night, and while the memories lingered, there was no more room for sorrow today. Today was a day of anticipation and preparation. The royal ball was only two days away, and Nila's preparations were nearly complete. She stood by the vanity in her chamber, considering her options for jewellery and clothing. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she brushed a hand over the pale gowns and shimmering silks hanging neatly on the polished wooden rack. 

Before she could dwell too long on her thoughts, Cyrus's voice interrupted the silence. He appeared at the door, his brown hair slightly tousled and a playful glint in his eyes. "Are you really thinking of wearing something you already have?" he asked, crossing his arms as he leaned against the frame.

Nila turned, giving him a small smile. "These dresses are more than enough, Sol. I don't need anything new for the ball. Besides, I shouldn't be spending—"
