KIERAN
I was at my office, trying to brainstorm about what type of date Edwina would like best for our second date, when my secretary walked in.
Her heels clicked over the marble floor, and the aroma of the coffee she was carrying wafted into my nose. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, the scent of the coffee making me think of Edwina.
Everything made me think of Edwina these days.
My secretary, whose name I never remembered even though she had been working with me for years, dropped the coffee in the cup holder before she spoke.
"You have a visitor, sir," she said and I raised my eyebrows.
I wasn't expecting anyone, so I wondered who it might be. Maybe a client who needed something to be done as soon as possible.
"Send them in," I said as I took a sip of my coffee. She nodded briskly and walked out.
