บท 32: CHAPTER 32

Coming to the bar had almost not happened tonight. I was exhausted from work, and all I had wanted to do was sleep. 

But with Amelia still sulking and moody with whatever was wrong with her, I didn't hesitate to take my best friend up on the offer when he called me. 

We were at the club, watching time go by and making random conversation when I felt the air change.

It became charged, like an electric live wire had been tripped. 

The feeling made my skin prickle, and when my wandering gaze snagged on Edwina's, I knew I had found the source of the tension.

Her presence in the very space that was familiar to me like the back of my hand was unexpected, and even though she was sitting right before me, the sight was still disconcerting to me. 

Edwina was not one to frequent clubs or bars. She was more of a refined, classy lady. But here she was, her body trembling wirh anger as she downed shots after shots of gin.
