As Steven walked back home, bags of groceries in hand, the enormity of his situation settled in. He had gotten away with going out in public, but it was a close call. If anyone took a closer look, they would've noticed something was off.
"I can't keep doing this," he muttered under his breath. "I have to figure out how to live like this."
He thought back to his attempts to use Kaguya's powers earlier—levitating objects, distorting space. He had access to abilities beyond human comprehension, but every time he used them, he felt a pang of fear. One wrong move, and he could accidentally destroy something, or worse, reveal himself to the world.
"I've got to be careful. Lay low. No powers unless absolutely necessary." He felt the weight of that decision settling on his shoulders. He wasn't just a guy in a bad situation—he was holding immense power, power that could reshape the world if misused. He couldn't risk drawing attention to himself.
As Steven approached his apartment building, his mind raced with new anxieties. He was still trying to wrap his head around the cosmic implications of his transformation. The question gnawed at him—was this some kind of test? A prank by higher beings? Could there be cosmic gods watching, waiting for him to slip up?
And if they were out there, what did they want?
Steven shivered, despite the hoodie's warmth. "What if this is just the beginning? What if they're waiting for me to make a move?"
The thought was terrifying. He didn't know who—or what—had given him Kaguya's powers, but the idea that some cosmic entity was watching him from above, like a puppet master pulling strings, made his skin crawl.
Back in the safety of his apartment, Steven sat down, pulling off his hoodie and sunglasses. His long, white hair spilled out around him, almost glowing in the dim light of the room. He stared at his reflection in the mirror once again, Kaguya's pale face looking back at him.
"This is my life now," he whispered to himself, feeling the weight of his powers and his new identity pressing down on him. "Just keep your head down. Stay under the radar. Don't attract attention."
He leaned back, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought. He didn't know how long he could keep up the disguise, how long he could pretend to be human in a world that wasn't ready for a being like Kaguya.
But for now, all he could do was try to accept his situation.
Steven sat cross-legged on the floor, Kaguya's long white hair draped around him like a shimmering cape. The disguise had worked outside—barely—but hiding forever wasn't an option.
"If I'm going to live like this, I need to understand what I can do," he muttered to himself, staring at his hands—Kaguya's hands.
He took a deep breath. The thought of using Kaguya's abilities scared him, but if he didn't start experimenting, how could he learn to control them? His mind raced with possibilities, one question standing out: Could I actually use jutsu like they do in the anime? It sounded crazy, but after everything that had happened, craziness seemed almost normal now.
"I mean, I've got the chakra. I've got Kaguya's body. Why not?"
Steven focused, closing his eyes, trying to tap into the strange, godlike energy flowing through him. He had seen Kaguya warp through dimensions in Naruto using her powers. Could he do the same?
He stood up and stretched out his arm, focusing on the idea of opening a portal, visualizing a rip in space. His hand began to tingle, a soft warmth spreading through his body. The air around his fingers shimmered.
"Come on... come on..." he whispered, concentrating harder.
Suddenly, with a quiet whoosh, a tear in reality appeared in front of him, a swirling vortex of light and shadows. Steven's eyes widened in awe.
"Holy crap... I did it."
The portal floated in mid-air, swirling ominously like the gateways he had seen Kaguya create. Through the opening, he could see another place—someone's bedroom. Posters of anime characters lined the walls, a messy bed in the corner. He recognized it immediately. It's my neighbor's apartment.
Steven had just opened a window into another person's home.
