บท 3: Chapter 3

Wanderer had opened up an agency, with the help of Principal Nezu.

It's been two months since he became a Pro Hero.

During those two month, he got himself a small apartment that was functional for his needs, he's also gotten requests to use his likeness in merchandise.

He didn't really care, but with Nezu, he set up a bank account for Wanderer and now he had money to spend on his needs.

Soon Nezu told him that he should open an agency to help with his hero work as most heroes recruit sidekicks to aid and train.

It took some talking but Wanderer agreed.

The Wanderer Agency was made, set in a building with 20 floors.

The puppet wasn't sure about all this space but the principal insisted on it.

Now he had to find people to hire to help with his menial tasks while he searched Japan for a way back to Teyvat.

As such, he was doing interviews.

Cementoss was there with him under Nezu's orders…

"... So what's first?" The puppet asked Cementoss.

"Well, you already hired a janitorial staff." Cementoss commented.

Wanderer had actually went around the streets asking some of the homeless if they would like a job.

… What? Why should he hire professionals to do such a job when there were people who didn't have jobs and could learn over time?

"Hmm oh here's one, Ms. Faruzan… no last name." Cementoss handed Wanderer a folder, the puppet looked the file over and his eyes were drawn to the picture, his eyes widened.

The picture showed a woman with light turquoise hair that were styled in pigtails and similarly coloured eyes, her iris were upside down triangles, she wore a nice dress shirt with a jacket, what caught his eyes was the pin of the anemo symbol on her chest.

"... Please schedule an interview with her." Wanderer kept his eyes on the file.

"Umm you haven't looked at the others." Cementoss looked confused.

"Please." Wanderer looked over Faruzan's resume and it matched certain criteria from the Akedemiya.

Did he find another from his world?

===========================

Wanderer was sitting behind his new desk, sitting in his… nice chair.

His hat was placed on the desk next to the computer.

He had already finished with paperwork so now he was waiting for Faruzan to arrive.

The door opened and Faruzan stepped inside, holding her purse with a smile. "Good morning Wanderer-san."

"Ms. Faruzan." "Madam Faruzan please." Faruzan cut him off.

The puppet's eye twitched in annoyance. "Ms. Faruzan, I do believe your looking for employment?" The woman frowned but this was a job interview so she would let it slide.

"That's correct, I was let go of my previous employment for… certain reasons." Faruzan looked nervous at that.

"... Well, you're hired, but before that, you must answer my question." Wanderer reached into his jacket.

Faruzan blinked, just like that? "And what would that be sir?" She asked him, her expression turned into shock as he placed his anemo vision on the desk.

"How did you get here?" The puppet stared at her with an intense gaze.

Faruzan stared at the vision for a solid minute before reaching into her pocket and taking out her own vision, the two visions pulsed with wind energy. "You're from Teyvat…" She muttered in shock.

"Yes, I asked you here because I am looking for a way back to Teyvat, I haven't had much luck, but with my status as a hero, I'll have more freedom to search, so please, I would like to hear your story." Wanderer mentioned the chair in front of his desk.

Faruzan immediately sat down. "Very well umm, I was locked in the ruins in the desert, trying to solve the puzzles to get myself out, it took me… I don't even remember how long, I haven't aged a bit… I think it was a hundred years?" Faruzan furrowed her brows.

Wanderer raised an eyebrow, he had heard of a researcher going missing a long time ago. "What happened next?" He asked.

"When I attempted at the puzzles once again after a break, I found myself being sucked into a portal of some sorts and found myself here in Japan, I was lost and confused until I was taken in by a nice family outside of the city, they taught me everything, I told them that I had amnesia because none of what they were telling me made sense!" Faruzan clasped her hands together. "They thought I had a minor wind quirk thanks to my vision, I hid it so they won't suspect… I then left and started to explore all of Japan, it's been… 2 years since my arrival."

Wanderer's eyes widened. "Have you found anything, any leads, any clues?"

Faruzan shook her head. "No… nothing, I'm sorry I haven't been much help.." Faruzan looked a bit ashamed that she couldn't provide anything.

Wanderer leaned back on his chair. "I've been here for five months… with my status, I'll be able to search far and wide, if I do find a way back, I'll let you know."

Faruzan perked up. "I'll be of any assistance I can, I'll do research to find anything I missed!"

"Great, we're getting somewhere… but we also have to do our work as a agency." The puppet sighed.

"Yes that's true… we can get funding for our search through." Faruzan cupped her chin.

"I have a deal with a few companies that wants to use my likeness for merchandise so that won't be an issue… what was your field of study in the akademya?" The puppet asked.

"Oh, I specialised in machine mechanics and language." She told him.

Wanderer's eyes widened, this was perfect, if he ever got into any trouble she might… He shook his head. Not yet…

"That'll be useful, thank you. Welcome to the Wanderer Agency." He offered his hand to shake, which she did. "Thank you for having me!"

===========================

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" Ingenium shouted as he ran after a thief on a stolen motorcycle, who was recklessly swerving through cars.

"FAT CHANCE!" The thief called back with a manic grin on his face as he swiped his hand, secreting oil from his fingertips. Ingenium tried to turn when he saw this but slipped on the oil.

Shutting his eyes, bracing for the hard concrete road to hit him, it never did.

"Learn to stop at high speeds." A voice scolded, Ingenium opened his eyes to see Wanderer staring at him blankly, he was holding Ingenium by the arms, keeping him over the oil coated road.

"Wanderer, the thief!" Ingenium looked to the side and saw the thief screaming as he was bouncing on an air current.

"How despicable… to rob a convenience store instead of a bank." Wanderer clicked his tongue as he put the hero down.

"Thank you for your assistance… I had that handled." Tensei took his helmet off and took a breathe of fresh air.

"Sure you did." The puppet rolled his eyes and flicked his wrist, dropping the suspect onto the floor with police already apprehending him.

"What are you doing around these parts?" Tensei asked the wind hero. "You are a bit far from your agency."

"A hero doesn't stick to one location Ingenium, I go wherever the wind takes me." Wanderer spoke, he turned his head and started to hover. "Shootout a few blocks away." He flew off at high speeds.

"What?!" But the wind hero was already gone. "Damn it." Placing his helmet back on, he ran after his fellow pro.

Once Ingenium arrived he found Wanderer already taking down the shooters on one side of the street.

Deciding to help, he rushed to the other shooters and made easy work of them.

Wanderer was about to jump to the next shooter but stopped when he saw Ingenium taking down the last one. "... Your aid was appreciated." Wanderer sighed as he looked at the groaning men.

"Silver Fangs and Kindlers." Ingenium walked over. "Silver Fangs are the ones that roam around these parts, Kindlers are supposed to roam a city over."

"Is that so?" Wanderer looked at the Silver fang, they had matching jackets for the silver fangs. He turned to the Kindlers, gangs in redish clothing.

Wanderer calmly approached the Kindler thug, who was desperately trying to crawl away. With little effort, he yanked the man off the ground by his collar and held him aloft. "Why are you here?" he asked, his voice cold and demanding.

The only response he got was a glob of spit, splattering across his face.

Without a word, Ingenium stepped forward, offering a neatly folded handkerchief. Wanderer took it, his expression unchanging as he wiped the spit off his face with one hand, all while keeping a firm grip on the thug's shirt with the other. He handed the handkerchief back to Ingenium, eyes still locked on the Kindler.

"... Very well," Wanderer muttered, his patience wearing thin.

Before anyone could react, he shot up into the sky, taking the screaming Kindler with him. The wind howled around them as they soared higher and higher, the thug's frantic cries for help echoing through the city streets.

Ingenium watched, wide-eyed but composed. He had seen Wanderer in action before and trusted that the wind hero wouldn't let the man fall to his death. Still, it was a terrifying sight.

"Ingenium! What the hell is he doing?!" a nearby police officer demanded, eyes following the two figures in the sky. Wanderer now dangled the Kindler high above the city, holding him only by his shirt, which fluttered precariously in the wind.

Ingenium exhaled slowly, his gaze never leaving the scene above. "Interrogation," he replied flatly. He had been after these criminals for a long time—if Wanderer had his methods, Ingenium wasn't going to interfere. They needed these people off the streets.

High above, the thug's screams grew louder as the ground seemed to rush up toward him. His eyes bulged in terror as Wanderer suddenly let go.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" The man plummeted, flailing wildly, the asphalt below rushing to meet him. The police and Ingenium held their breath as the thug tumbled through the air.

But just before he could hit the pavement, Wanderer swooped down like a vengeful storm, catching him at the last possible second. The Kindler hung there, shaking, gasping for breath, his face pale with fear. Wanderer stared down at him, his voice low. "Now. You want to tell me what I want to know, or should we try that again?"

"IT WAS A DRUG TRADE! BUT WE WANTED THE CASH AND DRUGS! SO WE TRIED TO CROSS THEM!" The Kindler spilled faster than a glass of water

"Search the area, they must've hidden the drugs." Ingenium ordered. The officers spread out to search.

"Anything else you're not telling us?" Wanderer asked. "How about your boss and the plans you guys have?"

"I-i don't know what you're talking about!"

"... Hey why don't you dangle him from his feet, blood tends to go up the brain when upside down." Ingenium asked Wanderer who looked to be considering it.

The Kindler paled. "NO NO NO! OKAY! OUR BOSS HAS HEARD THAT THE FANG HAS BEEN DWINDLING, WE'RE TRYING TO KICK THEM OUT AND SET SHOP HERE!"

Wanderer dropped the Kindler onto the ground and looked at a conscious Silver Fang member who shook his head as the wind hero set his eyes on him. "I'll talk! I'll talk!"

"... I'll leave this to you Ingenium." Wanderer shot upwards.

"Thanks for the assist!" Ingenium waved as he got to work.

===========================

""THAT WAS UTTERLY RECKLESS!" Faruzan shouted as she stormed into Wanderer's office later that evening, her voice echoing off the walls. "You don't have the ranking to pull off those kinds of scare tactics without facing serious media backlash!"

Wanderer rolled his eyes, slumping into his comfy chair with a nonchalant air. "I don't care about rankings."

"Well, you should!" Faruzan retorted, running a hand through her hair in exasperation. "Who knows how people will perceive you after that stunt?" With a sigh, she pulled out her tablet, tapping furiously. "Ingenium sent a message. He and the police managed to take down the Silver Fang and Kindler gangs after gathering the necessary information. Half of their earnings were wired to our account as thanks for your help. It was a huge assist."

"See? Nothing to worry about." He placed his hat on the desk, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I was just passing by."

"Yeah right," Faruzan replied, rolling her eyes in disbelief. "But we need to hire a good legal team. I have a feeling we'll need it soon." She continued tapping away on her tablet, ignoring his dismissive attitude.

"Whatever," he muttered, getting up to prepare some tea. He filled a mug with pre-boiled water and dropped in a tea bag, taking a sip as he sighed contentedly.

"I don't understand how you can drink that," Faruzan said, grimacing at the sight.

"What can I say? I like it bitter." He shot her a playful smirk.

"Just like you," she replied, shaking her head with a hint of amusement.

===========================

"I fail to see why I must do this…" Wanderer grumbled, standing awkwardly in a studio next to a sleek Honda car, feeling out of place.

"Because we need the funds to grow," Faruzan explained, a bright smile on her face as she playfully patted his cheek. "The faster we grow, the better for our projects." She turned to walk away, leaving him to contemplate his fate.

With a resigned sigh, Wanderer began the commercial, forcing himself to play the part.
