"Fire Binding Net, complete!"
With a flick of his finger, the lid of the furnace was blown off by a streak of energy. A golden net emerged from the furnace, flying swiftly toward Mo Yu.
He stretched out his hand and accurately caught the glowing net. A smile crept across his face as he gazed at the Fire Binding Net. With this tool, dealing with the Ten Thousand Beast Flame would become much easier.
As he raised his head again, Mo Yu noticed that Liu Xing had also finished refining his weapon. The surrounding crowd was now closely watching both of them.
Seeing the fiery spear emitting intense heat in Liu Xing's hand, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow. Though Liu Xing was arrogant and conceited, the man did possess some skill. Unfortunately, he had encountered Mo Yu.
"Now that both of you have finished your weapons, let me determine whose is of higher quality." Liu Ye, Liu Xing's father, stepped forward, glancing at the Fire Binding Net in Mo Yu's hand with some surprise. However, his expression quickly returned to its usual calm as he addressed the two young men.
"Yes, Father." Liu Xing shot a cold glance at Mo Yu before confidently handing his prized Fiery Spear to Liu Ye. Although the net in Mo Yu's hand seemed unusual, Liu Xing did not believe his own spear would lose to it.
Liu Ye took the spear and felt the power surging within it. He nodded in satisfaction—its shaft was straight and sturdy, gleaming with a red glow, and the tip radiated a deadly sharpness capable of breaking formations. Faintly, the entire spear exuded the presence of blazing flames.
Even within the Liu family, only a handful of weapon refiners could craft such a high-quality weapon. For Liu Xing to achieve this at his young age gave Liu Ye a sense of pride.
After inspecting the spear, Liu Ye turned his attention to Mo Yu, curiosity flickering in his eyes. Despite his experience, he had never seen a weapon like the Fire Binding Net.
This unfamiliarity only deepened his interest. Though the Liu family, known for their weapon refining prowess, had collected numerous weapon designs, none seemed to match the ingenuity of the net in Mo Yu's hands.
Seeing Liu Ye's gaze, Mo Yu calmly handed over the net.
He was not concerned that Liu Ye would favor his son. The quality of the Fire Binding Net spoke for itself—it was undoubtedly a third-grade weapon, superior to the Fiery Spear.
If Liu Ye dared to falsify the results, Mo Yu wouldn't hesitate to unleash Zi Huo. Even in the heart of the Liu family estate, the presence of a fourth-grade magical beast would force them to reconsider any hasty actions.
When Liu Ye took the Fire Binding Net, several elders of the Liu family immediately gathered around, intrigued by the net's unusual design.
"Mo Yu, what is the name of this weapon?" asked one of the white-haired elders, the same one who had earlier suggested halting the competition.
"It's called the Fire Binding Net," Mo Yu answered indifferently. "Unlike conventional weapons, it's not designed for direct combat. Instead, it possesses unique resistance to extreme flames. It can even temporarily restrain a low-ranked Heavenly Flame. This is a third-grade weapon."
"What?!" Liu Xing's face twisted in disbelief. He glared at Mo Yu. "Impossible! How could you possibly refine a third-grade weapon?"
At first, Liu Xing had scoffed at the idea of a weapon meant for anything other than combat. What good was a weapon that didn't kill? Might as well use it as firewood!
However, when he heard that the net could restrain even a Heavenly Flame and was classified as a third-grade weapon, his expression shifted dramatically. He instinctively rejected the idea.
Third-grade weapon refiners typically required at least the strength of a Da Dou Shi (Great Master). In the entire Liu family, there were only two third-grade weapon refiners. How could someone as young as Mo Yu reach that level?
Even within the Mu Lan Empire, third-grade weapon refiners were few and far between.
What Liu Xing didn't know was that Mo Yu possessed the Vermilion Burning Sky Thunder and an extraordinarily powerful soul. With these advantages, Mo Yu could forge third-grade weapons without needing to reach the Da Dou Shi level.
Given enough time, he could even create a fourth-grade weapon.
The atmosphere grew tense as the crowd processed Mo Yu's claim. Even Xue Mei and Lin Fei exchanged doubtful glances—they found it hard to believe what they had just heard.
While the status of alchemists and weapon refiners on the Dou Qi continent differed, both professions required similar conditions: considerable strength and a powerful soul sense.
Yet Mo Yu, not even twenty years old, had supposedly reached a level comparable to their master's accomplishments. It was simply unbelievable.
Xue Mei started to regret ever trusting Mo Yu, no matter what feats he had accomplished in the Jia Ma Empire.
However, standing silently beside them, Qing Lin remained calm. Her beautiful eyes stayed fixed on Mo Yu, unwavering in her belief.
To her, whatever her master said must be true. If he claimed that the net was a third-grade weapon, then it was.
The crowd now shifted their attention to Liu Ye and the elders, eager for their verdict.
Whether Mo Yu was telling the truth would soon be revealed.
After several minutes of intense scrutiny, Liu Ye and the other elders finally returned the Fire Binding Net to Mo Yu, their faces filled with shock.
"Tsk tsk, quite the talent you've got there, young man," the white-haired elder exclaimed, clicking his tongue in amazement. "To think you could forge something like this. I'd love to know who your teacher is, to have trained such a remarkable student."
"Elder Liu Fa, stop beating around the bush. Who won?!" Liu Xing demanded impatiently, his face darkening.
"Heh, let the family head announce it," Liu Fa chuckled. He clearly knew the result but didn't want to provoke the future family head's wrath.
With that, all eyes turned to Liu Ye.
Liu Ye remained calm, his expression unchanged. But after a moment, he let out a slow breath and made his announcement.
"The Fire Binding Net has been verified as a third-grade weapon!"
