"Hmph, I'll go find my uncle. He'll definitely let me go," said Uchiha Gin, pulling the girl along without looking back as they dashed out of the research facility.
Uchiha Hiro, overwhelmed with tasks, didn't bother to stop them and simply called out, "Be careful!"
All along the way, every house was brightly lit. The Uchiha clan members who could fight were donning their battle armor and taking out their best weapons, ready to show their overconfident enemies what they were made of.
"Clan leader, the enemy has broken through three of our defense lines and is about to invade the clan grounds."
A black-clad Uchiha reported this to Uchiha Tajima, who was in the process of putting on his battle uniform.
"How could they break through so quickly? What happened to the patrols?" Tajima asked sharply upon hearing that the enemy was already at their doorstep.
"The enemy seems to know our defensive layout very well. Before our people could react, they were ambushed."
The black-clad Uchiha replied with his head lowered.
"We've only rested for a short while, and someone already thinks we're weak? They dare launch an attack on us? We are Uchiha. We attack, not the other way around."
With a wave of his hand, Uchiha Tajima commanded coldly, "Let's see who's bold enough to try this."
Once Uchiha Tajima's orders were passed down, Uchiha Hiro gathered a few hundred elite, Sharingan-awakened clan members at the clan's gate. When Tajima arrived, he surveyed his people before shouting,
"Those who dare to offend the Uchiha, will face death!"
"Those who dare to offend the Uchiha, will face death!" "Those who dare to offend the Uchiha, will face death!" "Those who dare to offend the Uchiha, will face death!"
The dark night was lit by the crimson glow of countless Sharingan eyes. The roar of hundreds of voices echoed through the air, and a chilling killing intent emanated from the stern faces of the Uchiha warriors. Uchiha Tajima looked upon his warriors with satisfaction and declared,
"Move out! Face them head-on!"
"Clan leader, the enemy is using Kekkei Genkai. Based on the reports from the front lines, it's likely the Kaguya clan, who fled to the Land of Water."
Uchiha Hiro, with his rotund body, reported quietly to Tajima as they moved. Despite his bulky appearance, Hiro could keep up with the powerful Tajima without breaking a sweat.
"Those lunatics? They came all this way to ambush us?"
Recalling the information about the Kaguya clan, Tajima couldn't help but express his disbelief.
"I don't know," Hiro replied.
"No matter. We can interrogate them after we defeat them."
Tajima wasn't worried about losing. As much as he hated to admit it, the only clan that had ever been able to match the Uchiha over the centuries was the Senju of the Forest.
The Uchiha, led by Tajima, clashed head-on with the Kaguya clan. The battlefield instantly turned into chaos.
The Uchiha, known for their mastery of Fire Release and genjutsu, were not weak in taijutsu either. It was just that their other skills were so exceptional that their taijutsu often went unnoticed.
The battlefield became a blazing inferno, with blood and bones flying everywhere. The Kaguya, fighting with reckless abandon and trading life for life, barely managed to slow down the pace of the battle. As Tajima watched the Kaguya's suicidal fighting style, he suddenly realized something was wrong.
"Elder Hiro, have you seen any of the enemy's top fighters?"
In an attack of this scale, the Kaguya clan hadn't sent any of their strongest warriors, just a bunch of cannon fodder.
"It doesn't seem like it. With enemies at this level, they shouldn't have been able to breach our defenses so easily."
Hiro, who was skilled in combat, also sensed something amiss with the situation.
"This isn't good!"
Both men seemed to realize something at the same time. Their expressions changed dramatically as they turned to look toward the clan grounds in the distance.
The next second, a massive fire broke out in the once-peaceful Uchiha clan grounds, its flames casting an eerie light on Tajima's face from afar.
Just a short while earlier, while Tajima led the elites to face the Kaguya clan, dozens of shadowy figures quietly infiltrated the clan grounds from the opposite side.
Leading them was Kaguya Jōsuke, a man with a square face. Beside him stood a half-Hyuga, half-Kaguya man named Kaguya Takuya.
"Hahaha, I can't believe we infiltrated so easily."
Kaguya Jōsuke laughed wildly as he looked at the unguarded entrance in front of them. He turned to Takuya and said, "Takuya, this successful infiltration is all thanks to you. When we return, I'll report to the clan leader and ensure you are rewarded."
"Thank you, Elder!" Takuya, who had long been discriminated against in the clan due to his mixed blood, was elated. If not for the fact that he had awakened a variant of the Byakugan, he would have been reduced to a mere servant of the pure-blooded Kaguya.
With his Byakugan, Takuya had led them through multiple hidden sentries. The credit for this would be enough to secure his position in the clan.
"What took you so long?"
A mysterious figure appeared from the darkness once again, as if waiting for them.
"Hmph, don't waste time. Quickly tell us where the Uchiha's secret locations are, and where their important people are hiding," Kaguya Jōsuke demanded.
The mysterious figure pulled out a simple map with red crosses marking several locations. He tossed the map to Sōsuke and said quietly,
"Hurry up. I can't wait to see Uchiha Tajima's face when he realizes what's happening."
Kaguya Jōsuke opened the map. Most of the marked locations were places like granaries, armories, supply depots, and research facilities. But the largest red cross was placed on the "Clan Leader's Mansion."
"Hahaha, I wonder what Uchiha Tajima did to make you hate him so much," Jōsuke said, noticing the special marking on the mansion, though his face still showed a hint of curiosity.
"It's none of your concern."
The mysterious figure lowered his head, coldly uttering those words before blending back into the darkness.
"Men, let's go! It's time to wreak havoc!"
Kaguya Jōsuke handed the map to Takuya and led his elite warriors like wolves into the defenseless Uchiha grounds, ready for their slaughter.
Meanwhile, the mysterious figure removed his disguise, revealing a pair of glowing, aged eyes.
Watching the bloodshed caused by the Kaguya clan, the elderly Uchiha Yao pulled out a jar filled with liquid.
Inside the jar floated a pair of eyes, faintly glowing red. Stroking the glass, Uchiha Igaku murmured softly,
"Shinzo, watch carefully. The killer will finally face his punishment."
