Maybe that thing they have in common pushed them to death. Or maybe it pushed to them suicide. He was seriously considering that last possibility as Wrath droned on. 

He pretended that he couldn't hear the shadow spirit, but he was very grateful when the reply from the information broker arrived. It distracted Wrath enough to stop it from speaking.

"I am pleasantly surprised that you have gotten back to me so soon. I trust you have done your due intelligence to investigate me. I would be disappointed in you if you haven't."

"It doesn't matter anyway. My opinion of you is my matter, not yours. What matters is that you have decided to take the test. That is a good decision. I will forward you the details of your next mission. You have a month to complete it. I hope you will not disappoint me."
