The next day, Abigail woke up with an annoying sore and dry throat. When she swallowed, it felt like she was eating a sharp razor. She cleared her throat several times before opening her eyes, but the bright light blinded her.
Glancing at the window, she was speechless to see the sunshine pouring into the room through the open curtain. Last night, she hadn't had time to close them. After adjusting to the brightness, Abigail tried to get out of bed, but her head felt like it might crack open. The pain was intense.
'Ugh! What's this? Did I catch a cold? Seriously?' she wondered.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, she massaged her temples, hoping her headache would subside soon. However, after a few minutes, it still felt as if someone had hit her in the head with a giant hammer. It still hurts.
Abigail forced herself to look for medicine but found nothing.
