PRESENT DAY IN THE MAGICAL KINGDOM
Lord Lungu stands in shock, as he tries to process the words that have just left Bella's lips. Princess Rose, his beloved mate who he has mourned for over two decades, is still alive? It seems impossible, unbelievable,
The news is like a bolt of lightning, jolting Lord Lungu out of his grief and into a whirlwind of emotions. Hope, disbelief, confusion, and above all, a deep longing to see Princess Rose once more. Could it be true? Could his mate, who had been taken from him so cruelly all those years ago, still be out there somewhere, waiting for him?
Lord Lungu's heart races as he tries to make sense of it all. He had spent years mourning Princess Rose, his one true love, believing her to be lost to him forever. And now, here was a glimmer of hope, a chance to reunite with her after all this time.
As he struggles to process the news, Lord Lungu feels a surge of determination rising within him. He would find Princess Rose, no matter the cost. He will search every corner of the kingdom, leaving no stone unturned, until he is reunited with his mate once more.
"My dear Is what you just said true? Is your mother and my fated mate alive?" Lord lungu asks Bella.
Bella nods, her eyes filled with compassion. "Yes, Father. She is alive and safe." Bella tells her father.
Lord Lungu's heart races with a mix of emotions. Hope, disbelief, and longing all swirl within him. Princess Rose, his beloved mate, whom he thought he had lost forever, is alive. The thought is almost too much to bear.
"How do you know about your mother Aconitum?" Lord Mike asks Bella.
Bella looks around the room and finds that everyone Is looking at her with questioning eyes. "I just know Father," Bella tells her adoptive father, giving him the same answer she gave her uncle. She can't tell him that she talked to her mother who is in the in-between realm that would put her in danger.
"Do you know where she is?" Lady Lungu asks.
Bella looks at her uncle King James who in turn looks at everyone with guilt. "Don't tell me you have always known she is alive, King James." Lord lungu states looking at King James who is avoiding his eyes confirming Lord Lungu's suspension.
Lord Lungu looks at King James with a mixture of shock and confusion. He has always known that King James is a secretive creature, everyone knows that dragons are secretive by nature, but he never imagined that he would keep such a crucial piece of information from him.
As Lord Lungu's anger flares, King James shifts uncomfortably under his gaze. The guilt is evident in his eyes, but he refuses to meet Lord Lungu's intense stare. Bella can sense the tension in the room, the air thick with unspoken words.
"I have always known because she is in the oval kingdom," King James finally admits, his voice barely above a whisper. Lord Lungu's heart sinks at his words. He can't believe that he has kept such a vital secret from him.
Lord Lungu's anger is noticeable as he demands answers from King James. His wolf is close to breaking free, the need to find his mate overwhelming his senses. Bella can see the struggle within him, the battle between man and beast raging behind his eyes.
"And you did not think to tell me about it. How can you hide my mate from me? Do you know what I have gone through looking for her?" Lord Lungu's voice is filled with raw emotion, his pain evident in every word he speaks.
Bella feels a surge of guilt wash over her. She can't bear to see the hurt and betrayal in her father's eyes. She regrets bringing up the topic of her mother now seeing how everything has unfolded.
As the tension in the room
reaches its peak, Bella knows that something has to be done. She can't stand by and watch the two magical beings look at each other like they want to rip each other's throats out. With a determined look in her eyes, she steps forward and places a hand on Lord Lungu's arm.
"I am sorry, father. I did not mean for any of this to happen. If I had known that bringing up my mother would result in this tension I would have kept quiet. I just want to see my mother. I want to touch the woman who put her life in danger just so she can save mine." she whispered, her voice low. Lord Lungu turns to look at her, his eyes softening at the sight of her.
"You don't have to apologize, my dear, you have not done anything. I am glad you brought up the topic. At least I got to know that your mother is alive." Lord lungu says as he hugs his daughter.
"How is Princess Rose?" Lady Regina asks the question everyone in the room has been dying to ask.
"She is not well. She has been sleeping for the past twenty-one years." King James says.
"What?" Lord Lungu asks.
"That is one of the reasons I hid her existence from everyone including you lord lungu. I know she is your fated mate, Lord lungu but I had to protect my sister from further harm. When she came back from the human realm twenty-one years ago, her magic had depleted and she was transitioning into a vampire." King James says, tears threatening to come out but he forces them back.
"Oh, spirits," lady lungu says as she sits down on the bed.
"I started the rumor that the brotherhood had her to avoid anyone suspecting that she was in the Oval Kingdom. The only ones who know about her being in the Oval Kingdom are some of my trusted soldiers, Lisa, her maid, and the great seer" King James explains.
"Has she fully transitioned into a vampire?" Lady Lungu asks.
"No, Lisa and some of my trusted witches put a spell on her to delay the transition. The spell has put her to sleep as we continue to find a way to stop the transition." King James says.
"When can I see her?" Lord lungu asks.
"I am not sure you coming to see her is a good idea. Everyone will start suspecting us once they see you there, considering I forbid you from ever coming to the Oval Kingdom twenty-two years ago." King James says.
"But I want to see her." Lord lungu states.
"I know and I understand but you have to wait until I arrange for you to meet her." King James says, hoping lord lungu will understand his reasoning.
"Okay, but don't take too long because my wolf is already restless." Lord lungu says.
"I can see her, right?" Bella asks.
"Only if you agree to do what I said." King James says.
"No, I will not do it."
"I will only allow you to see your mother if you agree to do it." King James says his voice leaving no room for arguments.
"I am going to see my mother whether you allow it or not uncle," Bella says her golden brown eyes are filled with fire as her dragon fights to be let free. The room becomes hot as she looks at her uncle with fury. "I have not seen my mother since I was born, all I have ever wanted is to meet her. What makes you think that you can stop me from seeing her? You are a king, uncle but I am Belladonna Aconitum Princess Rose's daughter and you know how stubborn your sister is but I am twice as stubborn." She says as looks up at her uncle.
"I can see my sister's stubbornness in you but I will still not allow you to see her unless you agree to my terms." King James says.
"What terms have you given my daughter?" Lord lungu asks.
"Before giving birth to Belladona, Rose cast a binding spell on both her and the child in the room." Everyone goes quiet in the room after the revelation.
"But what does that have to do with Belladonna seeing her mother?" Lady Lungu asks.
"The binding spell is the reason why Belladonna's magic is unstable. Her magic is connected to her mother. I have told her that the only way I will let her see her mother is if she agrees to have the binding spell lifted." King James explains.
"I am not going to do it," Bella says.
"If being connected to your mother is the reason why your magic is unstable then we need to have the spell lifted." Lord lungu says.
"But I can't do that," Bella says.
"Why not?" Lord lungu asks.
"Because we don't know what will happen if we lift the spell," Bella says.
"What do you mean?" Lord lungu asks.
"Because I have her pure magic, she transferred it to me when I was born and please don't ask him how I know because I can't tell you."
"Oh, no," King James says, as everyone in the room goes quiet.
