บท 49: Wounded Pride

Aiden's POV

"With whom do I share the uncanny resemblance?" I asked again but before the leader could answer the question, another rogue stepped forward, his dark eyes glinting with bloodlust.

"Aren't we wasting time with questions?" The rogue snarled through the mind-link. 

"Let's just end this young fool's life and be done with it." He added as a matter of urgency. 

The other rogues began to circle Aiden's wounded form, their movements calculative and predatory. 

"We can go another round if you insist. Just be assured that you won't see the end of me today." My wolf and I snarled at the rogues. 

Despite the injuries, my wolf refused to cower, his muscles tensing for another fight. 

Blood dripped steadily from our wounds, staining the forest floor beneath him, but his eyes remained fierce and defiant just like my mind. 

"Stop!" The leader's commanding voice thundered through our minds.
