Brooke rushed out of the house after a few minutes, her heart pounding in her chest as she pulled her box after her and struggled with a couple of duffel bags in the other hand.

She had to get out of there, fast. She needed to disappear, to vanish into thin air before anyone caught unto her. She had not even been able to write a goodbye note, she could not afford to.

'Maybe when I have settled down somewhere I can tell them that I am fine. Or maybe I can even find a way to blame Lyse for my disappearance.' She thought vindictively.

However, as she approached her car, she froze.

There was a man was sitting on the hood of her car, his face obscured because he was facing away from her. His sudden appearance made her steps falter and she came to a stop beside the car while she wondered how he got in and what he was doing there.
