บท 64: Chapter 60. Snip-Snip!
When Noah and Lissandra emerged from the underground lab, Lissandra was already dressed in modern clothing: a knee-length black dress and a blue blouse. Under the lab's lights, her snow-white legs gave off an alluring sheen.
They walked out of the lab side by side.
"Uh, what happened here?"
As soon as Noah stepped out of the lab, he noticed that the area where the sun should be was cast in shadow. He looked up to understand why.
To his surprise, his estate was now covered in dense plant life. The plants seemed familiar, as if they had come from his own garden.
"Did Ivern use his W? Or did Maokai activate his ultimate?" Noah gazed at the enormous plants before him in confusion.
Note: Ivern's W ability is called Brushmaker.
"These plants seem to have absorbed a powerful force, which caused them to grow significantly larger," Lissandra analyzed the situation, her eyes glinting with streams of data.
"I assume that when you used the Resolve Rune, some of its energy escaped, and the plants mutated by absorbing that pure life force," Lissandra concluded after her analysis.
"Yeah, I thought as much. When I used the rune, even though I tried to contain the energy, some still leaked out," Noah suspected this from the beginning, sensing the potent magic of the Resolve Rune in the air.
"But this level of change will surely attract attention. Satellites can easily spot this," he worried, knowing the rune's influence extended beyond his estate, making such changes hard to hide.
"Don't worry, Noah. On the first day at the estate, I set up anti-surveillance measures. Within a ten-kilometer radius, satellites only see what I show them," Lissandra explained calmly.
"Lissandra, you're amazing," Noah admired her, realizing that some tasks were beyond his ability, and in such situations, Lissandra was there to help.
Lissandra smiled slightly and tucked her golden hair behind her shoulder. Despite her recent transformation into a human, she was adapting quickly.
"Noah! The trees in the yard have grown so much!" Gwen stood on the balcony, waving at Noah.
"Hey, that beautiful woman—is that Lissandra?" Gwen noticed the unfamiliar woman beside Noah, tall, with blonde hair and an intelligent, mature appearance, reminiscent of her mistress Isolde.
Pushing away thoughts of her mistress, she remembered Noah's words about Lissandra's body. Could this be the new Lissandra?
Hearing Gwen's voice, Noah turned and noticed her on the balcony. Lissandra also smiled at her, feeling a kinship with the girl summoned by Noah, just like herself. To everyone else, Lissandra remained cold.
"Gwen, come down, we've got some work to do," Noah called out.
"Okay! Coming!" Gwen, leaning on the railing, jumped from the third-floor balcony.
A blue aura surrounded Gwen, protecting her. Noah noticed this aura blocked his vision, preventing him from seeing what was inside.
She landed gracefully and approached him.
"Noah, do you need Gwen's help?" she asked, pulling scissors from her belt. She spun them, holding the oversized shears behind her back, though she wasn't sure what needed to be done yet.
"Gwen, do you see that giant forest of plants? I need your help trimming them a bit."
"What?! Noah, you really want me to do that? That's too much! My scissors aren't for that!" Gwen pouted, puffing out her cheeks at his request.
"I'll let you try something you've wanted for a while," Noah said with a tempting tone.
During their time in Asgard, Gwen had learned from him about his Wild Growth ability, which could be applied to people. She had repeatedly asked him to try it on her, but he refused, especially when she was wearing a dress. Growth in that situation could be awkward.
"Oh! Is it really that? I'm in! Let's do it!" she eagerly agreed upon hearing that Noah had finally agreed to use the fun spell.
"Well then, get ready," Noah said, pointing his finger at Gwen. Purple magic shot from his fingertip and struck her body.
"Wow!"
A magical circle with intricate patterns appeared around her feet. Under the influence of the magic, her body began to grow, and Noah watched her transformation, gradually raising his head.
"Ha-ha-ha, I'm so tall now!" Gwen laughed, marveling at her giant form. She was almost as tall as the house, around ten meters.
"Gwen, be careful not to step on the statues," Noah reminded her, knowing that with her enormous size, even the spacious estate might feel cramped.
"Don't worry, Noah! I got this! Snip-snip!" Gwen took an enormous step, covering several meters at once, and approached the giant plants.
What once seemed massive now looked like mere bushes before her eyes. She lifted her enlarged scissors and started trimming the plants.
"Snip-snip-snip."
In her hands, the scissors flickered like shadows, and the giant branches and leaves fell to the ground.
No, they didn't fall—they crashed down, not breaking the earth but causing some damage to the decorative elements.
Noah couldn't let such heavy objects just drop. He raised his hand, using magic to gently gather the fallen branches and leaves, moving them to an open area where Blitzcrank, the robot, could later dispose of them.
Although he could have easily assigned the entire task to Blitzcrank and other robots, he wanted to do something more interesting. He thought it would be fun for Gwen, whose scissors were meant for sewing, to act as a gardener. And if she were cutting hair, she'd become Tony the Barber. Noah even thought he might grow out his hair and ask her to cut it so he could cosplay Yasuo.
Note: Tony the Barber is a Chinese meme. It originated because many foreign barbers are named Tony or call themselves that. It's also a reference to the Anglo-American hairdressing brand "Toni & Guy."
He wanted to create fun moments so that Gwen would feel like part of their family. Although there were only three of them right now, such memories could bring them closer and make them happier.
"Hee-hee, faster-faster!" Gwen's cheerful voice rang out.
At that moment, she rushed past him. Due to her height, Noah caught a glimpse of a sight under her skirt.
"Ahem."
After some time, she squatted down to trim the plants at the base, and sunlight filled the garden once again.
Gwen was about to say something, but then her body began to shrink, returning to her normal height of 1.8 meters. She looked at her hands, feeling a bit disappointed.
"Don't worry, Gwen, you'll have plenty more chances," Noah said gently, noticing her expression. "By the way, you still need to keep learning about our world, remember?"
"Oh, right! Lissandra and I had just started!" Gwen remembered her studies. To better understand this world, she needed to keep learning.
Lissandra waved her hand, and from the device on Noah's belt, nanobots flowed out, forming her previous form—a sphere.
"Gwen, let's continue our lesson," Lissandra's voice came from the sphere.
"Uh, Noah, Lissandra, where are you going now?" Gwen asked, seeing that Noah and Lissandra were preparing to leave.
"Lissandra's sister's body was just completed, and we're going to test it. Gwen, stay here and study. When we return, we'll have something exciting for you."
Under her gaze, Noah donned his armor and took to the sky with Lissandra. Notably, Lissandra wasn't wearing any armor, simply using her magnetic levitation technology to rise into the air without any engines. This technology had yet to be integrated into Noah's suit.
"Wow, they can fly! I'm so jealous!" Gwen exclaimed, watching them disappear into the distance, then returned inside with Lissandra's sphere to continue her lessons.
