บท 98: He is back

YIREN'S POV

"WTF, Yiren! I told you not to drink it!" Meimei's voice snaps in my earpiece. My hands shake as I sit there, waiting—waiting for whatever it was in the beer to act. Bruce is stealing glances in my direction. He's waiting too.

And then it hits me.

A violent churn in my stomach. My insides twist as nausea surges. Bear looks up from my lap, his paws pressing on my chest as he tries to reach my face.

"Shhh," I stroke his fur. He licks my cheek, his warm tongue catching the tears I didn't even realize were falling.

"Yiren, don't worry," Meimei's voice cuts through the panic in my head. "Zian and Suyin are on the way. Just hang in there."

My vision blurs, and my stomach twists again. I gag.
