"Boss! 100 servings of Dango! Hurry up!"
After learning from Obito that Ichiraku Ramen Restaurant hadn't opened yet, Yusuke took the three kids to a dango shop, wondering if it was the same place Mitarashi Anko frequented in the future.
"Yusuke-sama, we can't eat that much!" Nohara Rin exclaimed, startled.
"That's right, uncle, can you even afford to pay that much?" Kurenai asked with a hint of skepticism.
"It's okay. We'll split the bill evenly," Yusuke said with a smile.
"Damn!" Obito muttered to himself, astonished by Yusuke's shamelessness. Here he was, eating with three six-year-olds and suggesting to split the bill.
The two little girls also had black lines on their faces. For Yusuke, however, 100 servings was not a lot. After traveling for days and not eating properly, he had a huge appetite now.
In no time, half of the 100 dango were gone.
"Is the key to strength in eating?" Obito wondered, thinking he'd discovered Yusuke's secret to power. He started stuffing dango into his own mouth.
Meanwhile, Kurenai and Rin ate more gracefully, taking their time with each meatball.
Suddenly, a solemn atmosphere settled in the meatball shop. Obito noticed the change and looked up to see several ninjas in gray vests and masks entering the store.
"Anbu?!" Obito and the two girls were taken aback. The Anbu were direct operatives of the Hokage and were considered unattainable by the young ninjas still in the academy.
"Yusuke, come with us," one of the Anbu said in an indifferent tone.
Yusuke, still chewing, took another meatball and sipped his green tea before responding, "I have some business. I'll come later."
The Anbu, initially ignored, felt embarrassed and repeated, "Hokage-sama is looking for you!"
"I've got to go see Kakashi," Yusuke said, leisurely finishing another meatball.
The three kids were stunned. They couldn't believe Yusuke dared to refuse the Anbu, who were directly under the Hokage.
And then, there was the mention of Kakashi. Their classmate? He hadn't been in class for days.
The Anbu leader, Sarutobi Shinnosuke, scolded, "Yusuke, don't think you're untouchable just because you repelled the Nine-Tails. With White Fang dead, no one can protect you!"
Yusuke looked up, recognizing the mask. He laughed mockingly. "Oh, if it isn't Captain Shinnosuke, the son of Hokage-sama?"
Sarutobi Shinnosuke, who had a personal grudge against Yusuke, was infuriated. He had faced the Nine-Tails' might and felt humiliated by Yusuke's strength.
Yusuke taunted, "What? Are you saying that someone who repelled the Nine-Tails can't be arrogant? Maybe those who got beaten by the Nine-Tails should be the ones feeling crazy."
Poof! Obito, unable to contain himself, burst into laughter, spitting out dango.
"Bastard!" Sarutobi Shinnosuke shouted, enraged, and lunged toward Yusuke.
In the battle with the Nine-Tails, Shinnosuke had seen firsthand the terror of the beast. His frustration was compounded by Yusuke's mockery in front of so many people.
As Shinnosuke's hand reached for Yusuke's collar, there was a sudden bang. The patrons of the shop saw nothing and then noticed Shinnosuke outside, crashing into a telephone pole and breaking it.
Boom~
The loud noise drew the attention of many pedestrians and ninjas working on the restoration.
"What's happening?" people asked in confusion.
"Did someone fight?"
Inside the dango shop, the remaining Anbu members looked around, angered by Shinnosuke's fate. Several of them rushed at Yusuke.
"Damn it!"
"Yusuke!"
Bang! Bang!
One by one, the Anbu members were flung out like footballs, crashing into Shinnosuke and piling up in a heap.
"Wow, that's amazing!" Obito's eyes widened. "I didn't even see it!"
Kurenai and Rin were also stunned.
"Well, well. When the tiger's away, the monkeys become the kings," Yusuke said, swallowing another string of dango. He then strolled toward the fallen Anbu and kicked off their masks, revealing their embarrassed faces.
"I really don't understand. Where do you weaklings get the courage to provoke me?" Yusuke stepped on the face of a Shimura ninja, raising an eyebrow.
Yusuke had thought that after his display against the Nine-Tails, no one would dare challenge him. But here he was, dealing with provocations just one night later.
"You're too arrogant, attacking Konoha's clans!" Sarutobi Shinnosuke, bloodied and furious, glared at Yusuke.
"Arrogant? What law in Konoha says you can't be crazy?" Yusuke said, kicking Shinnosuke again.
The crowd and civilian ninjas watched in shock. Though Konoha didn't officially ban being crazy, it certainly frowned upon private fights.
But no one dared to intervene. Yusuke wasn't going to hold back. He would make those who challenged him an example.
