บท 118: The Hungry Kid

Rache awoke a while later.

She wasn't sure how long she slept, only that when she came to, her little Darry was licking and nibbling on her palm again, bleating pitifully.

"Ah!" She murmured softly as she struggled to rise. "You're hungry again?" She frowned, worried, but Darrach had a look of need and insistence.

She wasn't sure how she could tell this sort of thing, especially after only knowing Darry for such a short time.

But.

She was sure.

She could tell!

"Okay okay...let me see..."

Her sweet little kid gave desperate, hungry little bleats. Like he'd just forgotten he was hungry before, but now that he'd been full again it was full panic time that he was hungry again.

And it did make sense to her. The sweet thing had probably gotten used to that gnawing pain and tiredness, and now he was afraid to go back to it when he'd finally had a taste of comfort again.

She'd be just the same in his position.
